Time travel back to late 40's and say it to gathering of hindus living in punjab, hyderabad and bengal and see if you walk out alive.

Hence my point: he got too big for his own skin. He started believing in his legend. Why else would be stoke the fire while putting his own life in danger? He believed he was truly a mahatma and the plebs should bow down and pay heed.

I have read a lot about Gandhiji and he comes out triumph in most viewpoints.
