Things think I like about toyota is air bags, abs and driver seat adjustment. Aprt from that heard lot issues about battery drain, leaking during rain.

Detonator Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Etios is a failure model and it's will be stopped anytime. It's an awkward car, with insane boot space like the ape auto and less leg room. I suggest you to wait for toyota vios, coming next year replacing etios. Both Dzire and swift doesn't come with the Fiat engine now (the major reason for it's success) , it's a reverse engineered maruthi engine which is pathetic. Xcent is a 3 cylinder 1.1L engine, whose power is equivalent of a passanger auto. Hyundai is also notoriously bad at car stability, and xcent is worst. My friend's i20 just toppled while taking a fecking U turn, @ 50kmph. Tata zest has the fiat engine, but that's the only pro. The A/C unit, electronics and suspension are bad. Good pricing though. Honda Amaze is really good, has 1.5L engine same as the city, which is powerful for it's segment, some claim unbelievable milages (27 kmpl) and good leg room. Also it's costs is really low. Only con is it's lame interiors. Fiat Linea is also a good choice. No negatives. A bit expensive maintainence though. Stay away from VWs, Skodas and Nissans. Only their premium and luxury models are good. A lot of cars are coming , a new ford sedan, cruze facelift (i m also waiting for it), a cheap audi.

Zest has more refined engine than the Honda i-Dtech. Yes, MJD from FIAT is best engine in term of NVH. Zest is spacious, fit and finish is improved over past TATA cars. 90 BHP MJD is very responsive as well, the NVH level are just superb when you compare it with Amaze. If u want Maruthi, Ciaz is better than Dzire

I think u could buy a petrol hatchback instead, if its for parents. No point buying Diesel, as it is only efficient if u driving more than 3000 kms per month. Swift and Figo are the best choices but they are aging models. New Jazz is the ideal option, as Honda has the best petrol engines around.

Hyundai Elite i20 is the best city car available in the market. Also, Fiat Punto has the best bodyshell among all the cars in this range followed by VW Polo.

Don't reject zest because of this reason,tata have come a long way from indica age.. build quality has increased greatly and since the car is for your parents i am sure comfort is a main factor and tata do produce some of the most comfortable cars in India. it does offer amt gearbox in diesel variant so city drives will be easier and it is feature packed and priced competitively... a total vfm if possible do a test drive of the cars you are interested so you don't have to regret the decision you make because everyone's needs and preferences vary greatly .. and a car giving satisfaction for someone else does not mean it will for you:icflove:

Desire is good but when trafic is very heavy and its stop start it gets a lot nauseating esp for older people sitting behind. Zest is having some build quality issues as told by my friends, but Etios is also a cab car eso in Chennai/Bangalore.
