Whatever is there in the Text Book, let it remain as it is. If someone wants to learn and has interest in the reason of India partition or who all are invaders and who are not, they can learn it in the Univesitry courses. No need of bringing these things in small children's History Book. Does not sound convincing, children of class 10th aren't that small. I respect ur views though. If we change the history books, the younger generation in their formative years will read about the common ancestry of Hindus and Muslims and how we got divided in 2 countries due to Islam. they will also be taught that Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism are the religions of Indian subcontinent and that Islam was brought by invading armies and how they were converted. Also they will continue to see the jihadi terror that still goes on in various Islamic countries. Its worth a try. Impediment wont be the Muslims as much. It will be the so-called secular parties. Many Hindus only will get influenced by them and wont approve. Plus I dont know if RSS/VHP etc have the brains to run a conversion program properly. Don't everyone already know that? I don't remember reading anything to the contrary in the school history books.

Should be explicitly mentioned also as it is much more relevant than a lot of other stuff we currently have to study in our history books.

Just because your ancestors were of one faith doesn't mean you are obligated to return to that faith or be part of it. I know and have met many born muslims who are secular or non practicing and in some rare cases atheists or agnostics. But never have I met one who converted to a different faith

Its abt the track record of how (badly) we have co-existed for centuries . I have no interest in bringing sikhs and buddhists back to hinduism for example. Plus if you observe the political discourse in India and how parties use vote banks, you will appreciate it more. I know and have met many born muslims who are secular or non practicing and in some rare cases atheists or agnostics. But never have I met one who converted to a different faith Good. If they start giving hindu first names and last names to their children, then that would be even better.

In Odisha those things i have stated are not being taught in schools i,e not included in curriculum but each mughal empieror was given 3-4 pages.
