fineleg Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 This is like when only SRT (or sometimes SRT and RD) score, and all fools collapse! Unbelievable. No one to support Kohli and Rahane/Vijay. No one. Only 3 players show up among 11 The others make up the numbers?? :weights:
vijay50 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 It will take several years before India might win another test in Australia.Pathetic losers.
Switchblade Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 You had Viru Sachin VVS Rahul Gauti now you have pretenders who are only good for IPL
rkt.india Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 You had Viru Sachin VVS Rahul Gauti now you have pretenders who are only good for IPL How many series we won with them in Australia?
Crookbond Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Today's innings of Kolhi-Rahane reminds of of the Azhar-Tendulkar partnership in Cape Town, SA. Though, that was more special - 58/5 against Donald, Pollock, McMillan and Klusener - it did have shades of it. I hope we don't follow the 2nd innings collapse in that Test match though.
velu Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 3 out of 11 is not bad . Even for australia only smith and other 1 or 2 shown their face
India-KXIP fan Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 How many series we won with them in Australia? 2007/08 is a win if umpires were not deaf Sydney test, no bad decision comes close to some of those like Symonds one. 2003/04 was close, India upperhand in drawn series 11/12 they were too old
India-KXIP fan Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 usually you don't complain much about umpiring but Symonds was really really bad

India-KXIP fan Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 He asked how many series we won and not how many series we might have won :poink: 2008 was win 2003 draw :two_thumbs_up:
bowl_out Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 2008 was win 2003 draw :two_thumbs_up: If 2008 was a win, then we are 2-0 up this series, given some poor umpiring decisions
India-KXIP fan Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 If 2008 was a win' date=' then we are 2-0 up this series, given some poor umpiring decisions[/quote'] That was more than poor. It was something else. Look at it and tell me last time u saw one like that. Big noise, nothing else close to bat. Ball deviates, almost like it was deliberate cheating. And of course we know what happened after. Lead was 130 would have been 7 down.
CSK Fan Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 How many series we won with them in Australia? We didn't win, but for 10 years, we had the best record of all touring teams in Australia. We drew series and number of match win-lost were like 2-3 with 3 draws. That is an excellent record by any standards. Australia was wiping floors with other teams, complete whitewash during the same period. And this was Australia at their peak, at home with livelier pitches http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/team/6.html?class=1;home_or_away=2;opposition=2;spanmax1=31+Dec+2010;spanmin1=01+Jan+2001;spanval1=span;template=results;type=team Thing is, we were on an upward swing in tests, from being utterly miserable, we started giving fights and every series was an improvement. Then in the last 4 years that progress has been completely lost and we are going backwards instead

Can we pull up stats to check my intuition?

Then in the last 4 years that progress has been completely lost and we are going backwards instead Though I agree they were however not at their best missing Warne and McGrath in 2003 and were not the same in 2008 when those greats had left. Think a year after 2008 India series SA thrashed Aus in Aus. But the current Indian side losing this badly to current Aus side shows the difference in quality between that Indian side and current one for sure. Lets see if they turn it round brilliant day today exceeding expectations.
CSK Fan Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 A draw has almost eliminated from the Test game today - it is either win/lose. Can we pull up stats to check my intuition? There is a lot of matches we could have drawn recently if we had batting ability. In the period I mentioned, Aus had only 10 draws in 60 matches and 6 of them were against India and NZ out of 15 matches. And NZ did not win a single match

G_B_ Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 agree with the sentiment Indian batting has hinged on Mooli Rahane and Kohli. below number 5 there has been no fight shown with the bat.
Crookbond Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 There is a lot of matches we could have drawn recently if we had batting ability. In the period I mentioned' date= Aus had only 10 draws in 60 matches and 6 of them were against India and NZ out of 15 matches. And NZ did not win a single match I would never argue with "could have" or "would have". I said that a Test match draw is a rare occasion these days - it is either win or loss. Therefore, we can't compare two different decades. You can't take Australia's draw record of 2001-2010 as a barometer because for a major part of that period they were a different team and cut above the rest. That's the reason they had 16-17 consecutive Test wins and that's the reason they went after a win in the Kolkata Test match. Next, if it was "batting ability" that matter for the draw then I don't see how captaincy counts. The whole point of "India having the best touring team record in Australia" can' be extrapolated to say that India did better. Even if you say that, India did better AFTER Ganguly, Dravid, Tendulkar et al played for 7-8 years.

If you had seen those series, you would see the self belief each and every player had to go neck to neck with the Aussies. Not just a couple of guys like Kohli now. Out off nowhere players played blinders, tail wagged, etc. Both Ganguly and Kumble inspired the team. Someone or the other would always stand up to be counted The self belief is completely lacking now, particularly in the bowling. We had limited bowlers like RP and Agarkar shining
