Vilander Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Pakistan should make a TV series showing the ghettos of Newark , Camden, Chicago etc and homeless druggies living on the streets in silicon valley. As for Indians getting happy how would you feel if US shows TV series exposing the harsh realities of India. Like the slums of Bombay, farmers committing suicides everyday, millions children dying annually due to illnesses because of no toilets available while the government wastes millions of $$ on space programs?? Well they do and they make movies on it too...some of it is true and India tries to work to remove it. Also based on your simili you are saying pakistan in reality is a hell hole as depicted ?
Vilander Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Slums of Bombay - Karachi slums are biggest in the world officially. Farmer suicides - more custodial deaths and target killing in pak than this millions of children dying - infant mortality rate in India is 40, in pakistan it is 70 space expenditure as percentage of GDP is around .5 percent in India.
aceofbase Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 to be honest i havent seen that or experienced it either know a lot of them in the east coast and midwest I have seen so many of such people: gas station owners and other store owners especially...In my neighbour hood there is a desi grocery store owned by a pakistani.... He is a very good person and i like him and talk to him sometimes..But to americans frequenting his store, he identifies as Indian..even his store us named as Indian groceries...
panther Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 He's as Indian(hindi) as you are, some lines on the map don't change anything.
Guldozer Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 It's funny that India is named after a river in Pakistan. So they are technically not wrong. :haha:

In my experience in college they are the first to point out if someone mistakenly calls them indian. I always tell them a white guy doesnt really care to differentiate but the ystill insist. I would do the same though if in an alternate world i was clalled a paki :haha: I dont see it as an issue. Anyways. On topic. I dont understand why ppl get their salwars in a twist over tv depictions.
aceofbase Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 He's as Indian(hindi) as you are' date=' some lines on the map don't change anything.[/quote'] I agree with that bro...But if u look at the cause of ill will between ordinary ppl , it's the army and ruling class thats responsible...
Shivaji bhonsle Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 It's funny that India is named after a river in Pakistan. So they are technically not wrong. :haha: That river starts from India. If we stop the river, Pakistan will become a desert.

bulbul Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said that his government has taken concrete measures to address the challenge of terrorism as he vowed to rid Pakistan of terrorism. "In our resolve to rid the country of terrorism, we will march further than any of the world powers," Sharif said while speaking in the Senate. He said that there is no question of lagging behind in the fight against terrorism. http://ibnlive.in.com/news/nawaz-sharif-vows-to-rid-pakistan-of-terrorism-says-will-march-ahead-than-any-of-the-world-powers/520726-56.html

G_B_ Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Islamabad is a well organised city. Its similar to Chandigragh. However a lot of the action in Homeland in season 3 took place in Rawalpindi (or supposed to take place not actually) which is a garrison town located a stones throw away from Islamabad. Its description was accurate. In general Hollywood creators have always shown things worse than what they actually are. Be in their own shitholes or other overseas shitholes. There was an entire industry painting new york in a grime light in the 1970s during the crack wars.
KFC_Zinger Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 On a side note, why is the word Paki considered to be insulting
