The board cleared it on her pressure which set the trend and release of films like Gangs of Wasseypur happened,†said Nihalani in an interview to Times Now. Also read – Pahlaj Nihalani: Normal people don’t abuse the way we see in films Nihlani also alleged that 1975 blockbuster ‘Sholay’ was stuck in censor board but only after the intervention of Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi it got released with edited scenes. Nihalani on Tuesday defended the banned words list issued by CBFC, saying anyone having a problem with the guidelines should approach the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. Read – Will ensure positive bond between film industry, CBFC: Pahlaj Nihalani “I have not made up these words. The list was given to me by my office and it was circulated among us. It was not for the media. It was not to be made public. It was given to them to follow the guidelines,†Nihalani said. Modi seems to have got very right choice for chief of censor board. Great. Lets gp back to 60's.

Precambrian Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Loving that we have a functional censor board now. We need to do something about TV as well.
Sachin=GOD Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Know Your Censors http://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/bollywood/know-your-censors/ Pahlaj Nihlani seems intent on taking Indian Cinema back to the 1940s. Modi Bhakts who saw nothing wrong in his appointment would be quite happy with his answers.

Crookbond Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Abolish the Censor Board! Show all b grade movies uncensored! :yay: You might have made this comment in jest but you are not far off. CBFC should ONLY assign certificates to films. The real issue though is that theaters and law enforcement agencies are unable to implement them. The polity complains and then we go full kulcha warrior mode where the CBFC steps in. The other issue is about movies wanting to get a broad certificate than a restricted one. If that happens, the CBFC says do XYZ and we will give you a narrow certificate. This I think should be done away with. The CBFC should ONLY answer yay or nay. However, none of this is going away until we start following rules ourselves. Most of the times it is us coupled with a laggard law enforcement agency (intentionally done by the government) that has to cop up the blame.

Sachin=GOD Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 the Censor Board has now banned five 'mildly abusive' words from a film called Badmashiyaan. the words that have been asked to be chopped off are, according to what a source revealed to a tabloid, "...kuttey, kaminey, har**kh**, a**, pichh**** and maa ki ***kh. However, in the last week release Dum Laga Ke Haisha, too, several words had either been changed or muted. The owrd 'lesbian', for example, had been muted in the Ayushmann Khurrana-Bhumi Pednekar-starrer, and 'ha**mkhor' was changed to 'kathor'. http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/censor-board-badmashiyaan-film-cuts-cbfc-cuss-words-list-abuses-kuttey-kaminey/1/422176.html Filmmakers should just give up and start making "Jai Santoshi Maa" type of films because thpse are the only ones which won't see any cuts.

I think its time that indian censor board be given the powers to reject a film based on plagiarism.
