Dude... ABD got 162 off 66 balls... And the innings ended... Can't imagine what he would have done in 173 balls...

and who says he'd survive for those many deliveries?cant compare both the innings,nohit's 264 wont be replicated and the reason is that u need to stay on the crease as well as go ballistic for a good half of the innings,very difficult tbh. actually nohit scored his 100 of 102 balls and then smashed 164 in just 70 deliveries(almost same as devilliers' today) so it means that nohit also went crazy just like devilliers

Forget about the 264, I would rate Rohit's 209 higher than both of de Villiers' innings as that was against a strong Australian bowling attack.

Simple.....AB's innings was a freak innings,much like Afridi's 100 or Anderson's 100 or Faulkner's 30 runs in an over against a top class bowler....Kudos to AB's talent that he could do it twice in 2 months :hatsoff: even though against a weak opposition(the same one in this case)...these innings take your breath away and make you feel special for having witnessed it. While Rohit's 264 contains all of of the above,the way he build that innings makes it an institution in it self,a book,a guide on how to build the perfect ODI innings...it had everything,crazy freakish hitting,great running between the wickets,innovation(remember the helicopter shot he hit???),defensive when things got tough and total all out attack. Absolute No comparison. I will say it right now nothing seperates these 2 in terms of god given talent....yes AB has converted his oppurtunities a lot more,which Rohit seems to be picking up slowly..but AB has that "choker" stigma attached to him...but despite that in my rational analysis I will put AB slightly ahead based on his performances.

Point taken... But doing 164 in 70 without the first 102 balls to settle in is appreciable... Would love to see ABD come in sometime around the 10th - 12th over and play a long innings...

In terms of entertainment, I would much rather was a well structured innings like Rohit (playing slowly in the early stages, then gaining momentum and scoring very swiftly in the last few overs) over something like de Villiers' innings (hitting out from ball 1).

if we take IPL as yardstick where both Rohit and ABDV play on the same level field , Rohit >>> ABDV rohit has time and again proven that he can excel under pressure situations but ABDV just chokes :D

Agree with Hipposucks............here is the perfect analogy difference between a Murderer and a Hitman. When you say the word murderer what does it remind you off- Murderer is this person who will bludgeon,stab,leave a mess-NASTY & Sleazy (AB Devillers 160) When you say the word HitMan what does it remind you off- Hit Man-A slick and cool guy who will assinate a person,make it look classy,cool and less sleazy(RoHIT Sharma 260) on the surface the same but that right there is the difference.

Austin 316, Shahid Afridi says '', my 37 ball hundred was recorded on smallest ground on earth'' in Kenya I think , that was in NAIROBI, Adelaide and Calcutta have 65 meters buntry line while Nairobi 53 meters.shahid hit ton in 37 balls on matting wicket was not really consider logically . Cory Anderson hits in 36 balls on classy turf (wicket)
