media is a business and like all businesses profit maxmization is their priority. Don't expect them to be completely neutral and un-biased. The last 16-18 months almost all media networks have been Rabid , sycophantic Modi CheerGirls . BJP supporters have a tendency to play the victim , as if there is some large concerted conspiracy to keep their party out of power.
Oh really? All these fear mongering about Hindutva done by Modi by paying media right?

From wikipedia: The Budget of Delhi, India for 2014–2015 was presented by Arun Jaitley the Finance Minister of India on 18 July 2014 in Lok Sabha. The total Budget estimate for the Government of NCT of Delhi for the year 2014-15 is Rs. 36766 crore (equivalent to USD $6 billion). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Delhi_Budget AAP's promises would need far, far more to fulfill.
Interestingly enough, the total budget of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is INR 33,514.15 (http://www.mcgm.gov.in/irj/go/km/docs/documents/MCGM%20Department%20List/Chief%20Accountant%20(Finance)/Budget/Budget%20Estimate%202015-2016/2-Highlights%20of%20Budget%20Estimates/At%20a%20%20Glance%202015-16.pdf) Staggering is the disparity in coverage of the two! Unbelievable how perceptions change.

I have the displeasure of watching news channels quite a bit, and none of the respectful ones seemed blatantly biased towards BJP/Modi. Sure they were generally very aggressive towards AAP and the Congress (more so than towards BJP) but nearing the election they even sided with AAP more.

it might not be the truth but the perception is that the lunatics have taken over the BJP' date='every day you read some idiotic yogi or RSS guy spouting nonsense and people are getting scared.they want peace and development and dont want these fringe elements to disturb that.this is a lesson for Modi to discard these idiots or permanently banish them but i think its already too late for bihar.[/quote'] I somewhat disagree. Media these days are finding these idiots to make some stupid statements. You will always find few in millions. They existed all along but nobody bothered to ask them about their opinions as BJP was almost irrelevant until now except few state governments. The core BJP team has been focusing on development. And RSS definitely is helping BJP in their campaigns but they don't dictate much in politics. We should stop reading much in these results. People have clearly voted just like they did everywhere in last couple years or so. Voters do not want hung assemblies anymore. There were good sizable voters who were very clear that Modi for PM and AK for CM. They exactly did that. But congress voters were so pi$$ed off that they decided to move to AAP amass and AAP did a good job in consolidating all the small voter groups who were scattered all over. If you bundle them all, what you get is 67 of 70. It is really commendable :hatsoff: and we hope AK does a good job. Its a very good thing. And in this time and age, no body is brained washed as few are claiming here. Please stop disrespecting voters.

It is actually funny to look at the contrasting voices of the various competitors of the BJP. The actual victor, Kejriwal recommends his party folk to avoid ahankaar while the regional shitkickers (Sena, Trinamool, RJD etc) are out to claim victory against the 'divisive & communal' forces.

It's the media's job to find people who make such controversial statements. In the same light, it is the party leader's job to kick such idiots out.

Height of desperation from Indian Express today. On their site, in big fonts, the headline says: "Dear Narendra Bhai: A letter from the US President to India's PM after the Delhi elections" When you click on it, there is a fake letter compiled apparently by some of their editors and being critical of the BJP. Is this how a national level newspaper and news site behaves? Can't they just say that this is a letter from their editors to Modi? Why do they have to drag the US president into it???

Absolutely sickening. This is the worst kind of yellow journalism. The huge font used looked like it was some kind of breaking news. These idiots think they can pass of their own views as those of the US President!!!! What a bunch of jerks!!

Our media played a big role in AAP's win in Delhi. Bringing Mullahs to their channels who would ask "seculars" to vote big for AAP. And secular Muslim has got to be the biggest oxymoron in India. And then we had anchors and supposedly neutral experts who were openly calling any BJP victory, a danger to democracy. There were plenty of hit jobs in January month which BJP failed to defend themselves adequately and in timely manner. This was one big propaganda for AAP done by our media. So congratulations to our media for their victory as well.
