Rayadu has a pathetic strike rate of 75.... that too when he played on Indian pattas for most of his innings.. if you filter out his 121* not out his average would drop below 40 and strike rate below 70... That is VERYY POOR!! Rayadu is not an international class... He is your typical momentum breaker.. Here are most of his innings 23 of 53 8 of 19 35 of 46 13 of 21 32 of 54 1 of 6 1 of 7 20 of 40 37 of 58 33 of 54 5 of 25 Those stats make me cringe Yashpal sharma would look like Viv Richards.

True.. he is been forced to that position cuz of Dhawan's debacle and 'preserve Kohli' thought process.. But then again we shouldnt be picking up one-dimensional player...

We need to let Rayudu play at least 10-15 more matches because we can even consider permanently dropping him.

We need to let Rayudu play at least 10-15 more matches because we can even consider permanently dropping him. the biggest problem is we cannot cost India the worldcup by playing Rayadu in 10-15 matches in order to prove HippoSucks that Rayadu is not going through bad form but actually doesn't deserve to be in our Indian team... Reminds me of Yuvi during the T20 worldcup last year... He was not jsut at par.. still we selected him.. and guess what, in order to prove that he wasn't going through bad form, it costed us the T20 world cup... We have Ranji to try out the bad form

Rahane is the only slow player we can afford. Everyone else has to be prepared to shift to 4th gear at any time. Considering the depth of our tail and bowling quality we need lot of runs.

Regarding your 2nd statement, you can't compare our bowling to to our batsman. we have so many talented and better batsmen than Rayadu waiting in the wings in domestic.. K.Jadhav, M.Tiwary, heck even Gambhir and Sehwag are better players than Rayadu...That is not the case with the likes of B.Kumar and U.Yadav.... there is a single 140+ bowler other than V.Arun and Yadav.

For majority of the viewers who aren't blatantly biased, we don't stand a chance against Australia, New Zealand etc. In that case, it is obviously good to use this as a chance to groom our players so we don't end up losing the other upcoming ODI series. Jadhav has been in a somewhat bad form in List A and it is never a good idea to test a newcomer in the World cup. Not because they would cause us to lose (we're losing anyway), but because the stiff competition and pressure can have a harmful effect on the completely inexperienced players.

HALF of his innings.. shows that not only he is very very inconsistent, but is a potential recipe of disaster as he breaks the momentum right at top of the order... plus his other innings where he has scored decent, his strike has been 75... not something one should be proud of playing on flat pitches...

I thought even the most loyal Indian fans would have lost their resillience. Anyway, Binny deserves a lot more matches even beyond this world cup (mainly because he won't play many matches this tournament) and Rayudu deserves at least this whole tournament. Afterwards it can be reasonable to contemplate their fate, but right now is too early. Also, replacing 1 batsman isn't going to change our bad state.
