Flinging a bat in the hope of connecting, like Rayudu, is an act of insecurity

Uthappa better than rayudu, never gets out slogging these days, against lanka he was unlucky to get out on flick to mathews, anyone can observe but selectors like hack players and dot ball players like rahane

Watching Rayudu bat is like watching Zaheer Khan bat towards the end of Zak's career. Jump out wildly, and wild hoick. Headless chicken batting. Absolutely tail-ender ish. And he bats at #3  A position previously occupied by people like Kohli (for India) or Ponting (for Aus). #3 bat haha

Rayudu has scored some important runs and has good one day stats in his short career but I have never been convinced watching him bat (I believe he's a hack),don't trust him and neither have confidence in him.if he does well,I'll be the happiest guy but that's a far fetched dream.same thoughts on nohit

Why is this a surprise? I have always called Hackadu a talentless hack who has made ot on the back of some mediocre performances and Mumbai Indians power. Watch the guy bat, you can see he is clearly not fit enough to play in modern day international cricket. Looks similar to Kaif who everyone thought would have a great career but the talent is just not there.
Kaif was 10 times better than Rayudu. He can be compared with Nayan mongia or with Shib sundar das. He is that bad. We are back to 90s era.

In case everyone keeps on forgetting, Rayudu's average in ODIs is 43. Who are we going to replace Rayudu with that has a 40+ average? If you have someone like that, than replace Dhawan first. Rayudu has played only around 25 matches and deserves many more chances. I do agree that he shouldn't be batting at #3 though. I would like to see him at 5th.

But Dhawan has been given more than double the chances compared to Rayudu.
yes did better than Rayudu over a longer time. Dhawan is poor but Rayudu is poorer

Dhawan used to be better than Rayudu, but in this extended bad form from Dhawan, I think Rayudu should be kept instead of him. By the way, Rayudu averages 50 at #3, 30 at #4 and 30 at #5.

It was like watching Zaheer khan bat not a no.3 batsman.

Dhawan is thousand times better than Rayadu... Rayadu has a pathetic strike rate of 75.... that too when he played on Indian pattas for most of his innings.. if you filter out his 121* not out his average would drop to 35 and strike rate below 70... That is VERYY POOR!! Rayadu is not an international class... He is your typical momentum breaker.. Here are most of his innings 23 of 53 8 of 19 35 of 46 13 of 21 32 of 54 1 of 6 1 of 7 20 of 40 37 of 58 33 of 54 5 of 25

His technique isn't really good, I agree with that. But at this point, our team is desperate for any guy who can at least get runs. When we are getting bowling out for 150 against a merely decent bowling attack, strike rate doesn't even matter.

A lot of people are saying Dhawan is out of form.. I highly doubt that. Just like Rayudu, Dhawan does not have skills to defend on good bowling pitches. Vijai was the best option to have as opener. He can negotiate new ball and then very well attack or anchor innings. Its pathetic that we have to choose between Rayudu and Dhawan.

Rohit and Rahane should open with Kohli at 3. May be send Dhawan at 4 or 5.
