Ironically SA have never beaten India in a Champions Trophy Match.....Both India v SA have beaten each other in the T20 WC. It stands at 3-0 SA

Number Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 We were 270-1 or like that in 2011 in 40th over. Then SRT got out and we were all out for 296. Should have made 350 or something. No team deserves to win if it loses 9 wickets for 25 runs in last 10 runs.

Shivaji bhonsle Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 We are winning this. SA doesn't play spin very well. This win we had against Pakistan is a huge confidence booster. Steyn doesn't look in any form at all as we saw against Zimbabwe. They bat deep. So, we are winning this if we chase.

NareshK Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Beating SA, NZ and Aus in these conditions still sounds a bit tough for me because I can see them smoking our bowlers for 320 if they bat first and can chase down even 310-320. Need a special effort on the day especially from our seamers (may have to play Binny or Bhuvi instead of a spinner at other venues) if we have take one of these teams down.

In the champions trophy we won after we posted a similar total on a flattish pitch. South afica dont bat that deep as they used to. Behadien Philander etc dont have the best records with the bat. They too have a longish tail.

They too have a longish tail. Pitches in CT helped spinners a bit. They were on the slower side even though they were flat. Jaddu helped us win many games. Conditions here wont help spinners. Need wickets from seamers in the middle overs to restrict oppositions. This is a problem area for us. But I agree with you that runs on the board will help put some pressure on the opposition, like what happened today. Our seamers did well today by chipping in with wickets in the middle overs. Have to see if they can repeat it against SA and later against Eng or NZ, Aus etc.
