amiret Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 NEW DELHI: The health budget on Saturday saw a dip of 5.7 per cent with the Narendra Modi government announcing an outlay of Rs 33,152 crore for the sector, giving special emphasis to the promotion and development of AYUSH, the country's traditional methods of medicines. The ministry of ayurveda, yoga and naturopathy, unani, siddha and homeopathy (AYUSH) was allotted Rs 1,214 crore. AYUSH till last year was a department under the health ministry, but was carved out as a separate ministry last year by the Modi government which believes in promoting India's ancient methods of treatment. :facepalm: there is a separate Ministry for ayurveda and homeopathy ?! Apparently the Govt department has been elevated to the level of a ministry :facepalm: Meanwhile Swine Flu rages on in parts of the country . Health Minister JP Nadda had on Friday admitted that the country was facing a shortage of laboratories for testing swine flu. Swine flu has claimed 36 more lives raising the toll to 1,041 even as the number of people affected by the H1N1 virus in the country breached the 19,000 mark on Saturday. As many as 256 people have died of the disease in Gujarat, which is among the worst affected states. So far, 4,162 people have been affected in the state. Maybe there is some naturopathy or homeopathic treatment for H1N1 ..

Gaban Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Chidambaram was a disaster. Being better than pranab is not an achievement. Pranab's rise in politics is on account of his snivelling, grovelling skills before the nation's first family. Just like the president before him.

He is a really good finance minister, has just delivered a solid, sensible budget with an eye on the future and the Modi trusts him more than any other Minister. If his health problems do not become too serious then I expect him to last the entire 5 years.
