brendan07 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I don't think any other team has such loaded pace options, Pattinson, Harris, Siddle would be first eleven for many teams. This has become like 1980s WI to think Starc is not even playing in regular eleven is all versions shows how loaded Aussies are in bowling, it is almost unfair to other teams. Siddle? Laughable to say the least, tries his heart out but he is very ordinary. Starc is potentially a good test bowler although I'm far from Convinced and this is from watching him through the grades for nsw. Always has had better results in shorter form cricket. We have 2 better left armers playing for WA- Joel Paris (yet to debut but ridiculously rated) and Jason Behrendoff.

Don't you think Bangladesh, India or WI will have Siddle in their team, they do his greatest assest is run hard all day which is rare for a bowler. He has slowed down but 192 wickets@ 30 is not bad at all for a guy who has no great skills with the ball.

Bird and Sayers had fab averages but I'd pick Starc over them both. Hogan is another who has an excellent FC average, but he is prob not of international class.

Trent Copeland averages better than Harris, Johnson, Siddle, Hazzlewood. Would you pick him too? Hazlewood averaged 30 in FC cricket with just one fifer before his debut. He should not have been picked too. It is not just about FC averages. I have seen Beherendorff and he is nothing special.

I think it will improve in the coming years. I also see him as closer to Bond than Steyn - the former was better in ODIs whilst the latter performed better in Tests; Steyn also took quite a while to adjust and become a champion bowler in Tests.

I think up until this summer he had played 2 consecutive Test matches, just once.
