The rest of the players don't think too highly of Malik and he is seen as bit of a loner. Appointing him captain in 2007 didn't do anything for the long-term benefit of Pakistan since he was removed in 2009. Appointing him again and expecting different results would be insanity. ;) Plus he was a different player back then. He was turning out to be a decent middle order batsmen for us and he ended up failing in one series and the knives were out. We've had so many different captains since 2007 and expected things to change under each one. Look at India, they appointed Dhoni and stuck with him. Yes the leading is miles apart but that's not the point. The point is Pakistan expected different results but with different captains and the same players. Malik, Younis, Yousuf, Afridi and then finally Misbah. And now you want to go back to Malik? Lol
