MK55 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Starc has made all the difference. MJ is down in pace and not that much of a threat. Solid middle order and power hitters have also got into form. All boxes will be ticked if MJ finds his rhythm.. Marsh/Maxwell/Watson are also not that much of a threat when it comes to bowling but most teams will have problems with the 5th bowler.

He is terrible at the death. From what I have heard, Cummins is the favourite internally.

Ireland scored that against Zimbabwe's bowling attack and South Africa against even worse bowling. Of course Sri Lanka bowled pretty badly (except Malinga) but still better than those two attacks. Australia (along with India) are the best teams to perform under pressure... Australian bowling bar Starc is average. There is no "average" in this world cup as the skills of teams are extremely skewed. Johnson definitely isn't as good as he was one year back but I wouldn't call him "average". Cummins/Hazlewood are good bowlers as well. Of course Doherty is not as good and Australia made a mistake choosing him today. You got beaten by NZ. So you aren't unbeatable. No team is "unbeatable". Every team can have a bad day, although some teams have them less often. I think that opportunity is what India needs to bank on for the semifinals. Of course I don't think that will happen but Sri Lanka especially is not a bad team at all.

NZ bats are good but playing a one-of game in this world cup will be a big drawback for them that is if they reach that far. I think if India and Australia meet in the semis, the winner will be the eventual winner of the whole thing.

SL have a bunch of pie throwers plus malinga is their only bowler. that is big presumption sri lanka were in control too until pressure got to them and injury happened. also its one thing to score 50 ball 100 while batting first and other while chasing 330 so i wont be so sure.

SL were nothing more than an outside chance at best. Starc still had 3 to bowl, you aint slogging him away for more than 7 or 8 and over absolute MAX. Then MJ bowls well at the death. Good luck. I would back us to chase 340+ against SL any day of the week.

I would back us to chase 340+ against SL any day of the week.[/quote'] MJ is not bowling great that they would be worried. you can keep thinking its impossible to beat this side but there are many holes specially in bowling and i am sure some good batting side with score 300 and after that if they get openers early its gonna be very tough for australia. we can agree to disagree but other than starc i do not really think any bowler is doing wonders here and specially not MJ. if i took anything form this match is that with bit of luck sri lanka can get to final and you never know ..to me they look better than india so next stage of world cup is gonna be exciting.:two_thumbs_up:

Finch relies on the ball doing nothing! i saw bit of your domestic t20 games and patto looked so good...almost better than starc.. but like you told me he is coming from injury but he would have been perfect :two_thumbs_up: cummings i am still not sure but you need 1 more bowler and yesterday it was clear IMO.
