Many times even 30's and 40's and 50's are much much valuable than a ton

He did not even make it to the test side, mind you. Averages 29 in 18 tests!! Dhoni averages 48 away from home, so no idea what you are upto. Bevan had a total of six hundreds, he wasn't a century maker.

You must be out of your mind..Bevan was run accumulator, he always scored in singles and doubles, with almost 100% strike rate.

Muloghonto Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Dhoni is the best finisher ever because Bevan had one major flaw: he could not blast bowling attacks even if his life depended on it and even if it was Sehwag bowling. Bevan simply did not have the timing or the power to lift sixes and crash fours to make a 'monster over' and release pressure. What Bevan was, was an amazing poker of the ball, he could find gaps at will and except for Jonty Rhodes, i don't know anyone who ran faster between wickets than Bevan, so he turned singles into twos and twos into threes routinely. Dhoni can do that, not as well as Bevan, but when you are a chaser, you MUST have the ability to crash 20-25 runs in an over to release the pressure and Bevan lacked that. So I'd say Dhoni is a better finisher.
