I am sincerely impressed by the speed and aggression of Yadav and pace and guile of Shami so my question is related. I apologize because I know a million people have asked this question and will continue to do so. But as many of you guys keep a keen eye on the proceedings back home I am very interested to know if there are any promising you fast bowler coming through the ranks. Was fortunate enough to watch some of the matches from the recent u19 WC and noticed that C Milind and Avesh Khan were with decent pace but it seems they haven't lit up the domestic scene and it is the same old horses Vinay Kumar and Mithun who frankly are not international class. Sorry for the long tangent but would like a discussion on upcoming domestic prospects. Thanks !

MK55 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Aaron's the only one. Can bowl at 140+ even after bowling 50 overs in the match. Needs to sort out some mental things and can be a very good strike bowler. I feel the best way for him to improve is at the international level. Saw Shardul in a current match and I won't classify him as quick. But may be he can bowl quick when asked to bowl in short spells.

Veer Pratap Singh, Bumrah, Shardul Tahkur can touch 140 but not consistently, mainly averaging 135. Ishwar Pandey decent bowler, nothing special. Same for Navdeep Saini.

Swing?[/quote'] Swing, grassy pitches. Ball swings a lot in the winter. Decent accuracy too. Same for Rishi Dhawan, Basant Mohanty. Domestic batsmen cant handle accurate swing at 120K.

Sivakumar, however, appears to have a much higher degree of accuracy - his career ER in tests is barely over 2 I think. To add to the list of bowlers above is Vijaykumar. Hard worker, honest trier. He's certainly not international material, but came up from a humble background and worked hard to become what he is. On a diff note, Stephen had a good season and I hope that he kicks on from here.

He had started out as batting all-rounder, before becoming more of a bowling all-rounder. Unfortunately, this season he has gone back to becoming a batting all-rounder. We lack both decent off-spinners and leg-spinners. Amongst the uncapped players, there are some half-decent options: offies - Jayant Yadav, Purkayastha, Rangarajan; leggies - none (perhaps Quadri).
