How deserving someone is doesn't matter on game day, but apart from that you can tell (prior to the start of the tournament especially) which team should win the World Cup. Of course, South Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand all could win, but I perceived South Africa as being the most deserving. What I mean by that is going by current form and players prior to the tournament, South Africa is the best team in the tournament. Of course that doesn't mean they can't be defeated.

South Africa was the most deserving contender for the World Cup according to me. They have two of the world's best ODI batsman, 5 good batsman who can hit the ball very hard, and 3 world class bowlers. Amla didn't really struggle. He did well in the group stages.

Only against weak teams. Amla is the mother of all bottlers. He can't buy a run when it matters.

They were thumped 4-1 in Australia prior to world cup .How exactly were they deserving based on current form?

South Africa caught in this brutally vicious circle of trying to shed their 'choker' tag, even while trying to win some of the most competitive games of cricket ever in knock-out stages of ICC tournaments.. I would not wish my enemy to be in their position.

I voted for them to win the WC... but once they refused to drop QdeKock who was in bad form, for the knockouts to strengthen their bowling/batting, I knew they were out. Pak seamers badly exposed their top order

This is quite rubbish. Unfortunate that rain hit the match. If SA was able to play a full 50 over, I think all of us in this forum would agree that the final score would have been in the 350, espacially if AB stood their till the end which btw was a very very high possibility. Now let's look at NZ's innings. By the 43rd over, once more wicket and that was gave over for them. 350 would have looked miles away. Unfortunate really, feel bad for them but regardless it was a match to remember. Both sides were great!

how can they have quotas in sports? USA did not have quotas for basketball or baseball.. the black people just forced their way through the system. as long as black people are allowed to form teams and play the game on a competitive level within their country, that should be enough

The RPO was around 7, and NZ managed it... SA did not help themselves through a series of blunders.
