G_B_ Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Cricinfo is rapidly going down the pan -- terrible website layout -- mostly smug as feck commentators and analysts -- 0 filtering of the comments to their articles I shifted to cricbuzz a long time ago. But that was mostly due to cricinfo's layout. the only thing cricinfo are good for its statistical analysis and their database.

G_B_ Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 The problem for these cricinfo commentators is that many times they just look at their TV sets and type down stuff. If the connection goes for whatever reason then The balls too happen within barely a minute of each other.

In the heat of the moment, not many think straight its not as if he had all the time in the world and then still decided to copy. Axing somebody for this is a bit cold hearted. By all means suspend and warn the person in question to set standards. Maybe cricinfo need to send their ball by ball commentators to the ground? I can easily see this mistake being repeated.
zen Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Just coping and pasting is not the right thing to do. How to cover the match would have been laid out on cricinfo's SOP .... However, sacking the commentator is a bit harsh unless it is a part time type of job where it would not have had a big impact on the employee. A written warning issed to the commentator probably could have been a better option
