zen Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 Ind probably needs to get a leaf out of US's book and increase its advantage on air and sea And a quick glance suggests that US's budget approx. = #2 to #20 combined :omg:
zen Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 In terms of conventional military capability, Pakistan (and North Korea) may not be very high. However, in terms of nuclear capabilities, they pose a different threat level .... In terms of submarines, North Korea leads because of its fleet of midget Sang O's Not surprised with Taiwan being high on the list, esp. since it sees China as a threat. It has compulsory military training for its citizens (iirc) and is probably based on Israeli model (someone can throw more light on this)
zen Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 North Korea got most number of submarines. NK has a big fleet of home made Sang-O .... If I am not wrong, it also exports relatively smaller subs such as Yano-class to countries such as Iran
BeautifulGame Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 How does China has twice the personnel we have ? Do they have to do compulsory service ?
Malcolm Merlyn Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 How does China has twice the personnel we have ? Do they have to do compulsory service ? I guess so.

achilles Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 INS Viraat INS Vikramaditya Despite all the spending, we have just 2 of them>
Malcolm Merlyn Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Despite all the spending' date=' we have just 2 of them>[/quote'] Yes.3rd one to arrive in 2017-18 when INS Viraat will be decommissioned. INS Vishaal will be laid down in 2016.May be a Nuclear powered CATOBAR carrier. Except US no one operates more than 2 aircraft carriers.

I have heard once that in India there is a citizen army like training camp that trains citizens about how to face any disaster (human or inhuman). It is for a 2 months period I think. Any information about that ? :hmmm:
G_B_ Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 this is a bit meaningless. You need to take a look at the age of the equipment involved as well. USA (daylight) China Russia UK===France==India (daylight) Pakistan North Korea that would be my rankings. Takes everything into account
