kubrickian Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 The next World Cup is 4 years away, the bilateral ODI series are not very interesting and we dont tour Aus, Eng for another 3-4 years. I personally find test cricket on slow, low wickets at home sleep inducing. I dont watch IPL that much and even if I do, I watch it like I watch some dumb Bollywood movie. So for me, there is nothing exciting in cricket to look forward to in the near future. I may take a big break from watching cricket.

It feels like we play the same teams over and over again. Cricket needs more competitive teams outside of the top 10. Teams like Afghanistan, Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands and Nepal should be brought up to the level of the top international teams.

VRV Singh Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Lots of tours to several major Test nations (NZ, SA, Eng, Aus) followed by the premier ODI event in a very short space of time. It's understandable if fans are switched off now. It has been an imbalanced and demanding schedule. Usually these would be broken up and there would be more 'anticipation' ahead of them I think.
kubrickian Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 I personally feel as a cricket fan an India-Pak test series, one at home and another away alternatively every year could be interesting, leaving aside all the political issues. The Aussies and English fans have Ashes to look forward to and even the World Cup doesnt seem to interest them anymore. We should also have a big test series to look forward to every year, which will make us better test teams and overall better sides because we will always look to give our best against Pak and vice versa. It could become as important as Ashes for us as we already have a fierce rivalry.
