Even with yorkers' date=' you need accuracy. An accurate 130K yorker is very good too. It might not clean up a batsman but will still be hard to hit.[/quote'] Yes Weise yesterday got a wicket this way..still accuracy with pace is something else.

Only Johnson and Aaron have dominated the top 10 quickest deliveries this IPL which tells you that how pace alone isn't enough in any form of cricket. Bowling is all about accuracy whether you are bowling 130 or 150. There is no substitute for that. http://www.iplt20.com/stats/2015/fastest-ball
That is why I am looking for pacers who combine pace with reasonable accuracy. Work hard with the 145 k + guys like Umesh and Aaron and 140 k+ guys like Shami to make them bowl good length and around off stump ...ball after ball. Among the rest ...pick the quickest among the reasonably accurate bowlers. However , it must be said that pace is least important in T20s, where a 130 k guy can be a genuine wicket taker ... and most important in tests where accurate 130 k guys have rarely been strike bowlers unless they combined steep bounce with pinpoint accuracy. ODIs are somewhere inbetween.

LOL at people trying to be choosie in bowlers, we are Indians not Australia or South Africa with many bowling options. Apart from 3-4 bowlers bowling at decent speed with control, the rest all are pure crap, just look at domestics, all 115-125 KPH, even with accuracy and control such trundlers will be dispatched to all corners of the stadium in International cricket.

Umesh Yadav was bowling wayward and was dropped by KKR two matches back, then he came back with good control and pace after that and got 5 wickets in two matches. Wasim Akram worked on some slight technical adjustments with him, need such guidance by a coach who understands fast bowling instead of other coaches who tell to reduce speed and become 135 KPH bowler. Wasim Akram always says " never compromise speed, gain control with speed". Umesh Yadav's speed was from 135-145 KPH before that match but after getting guidance and confidence he is bowling 142 - 150 KPH in the next two matches.

Varun Aaron was breathing fire yesterday, he was swinging the ball slightly and most balls were in the range of 147 KPH to 150 KPH. I have observed that whenever he bowls faster and with confidence he has more control and accuracy, as soon as he tries to bowl slower he loses accuracy. That is why, Varun should go all out everytime atleast in T20 and ODI. The 150KPH bouncer was deadly but went for boundary as its 55m boundary in Delhi and it got top edged. Still Delhi is better than Bangalore for a Fast bowler. Got well deserved Man of the Match, should ensure selection for further RCB matches, could have got one or two more wickets but catches were missed. And i laugh at others denigrating Varun Aaron, this young bowler has suffered 5 back stress fractures and is still dedicated to bowling fast and bowls easily at 150 KPH, most others would run away at this point, good to see he has very supportive family.

So India's fastest bowler right now is Aaron followed by Yadav.Shami is quick but these 2 are genuine fast bowlers.Outside the national team there is Rahul Shukla who's fast & Suyal who's quick for a leftie.Ishant is fast-med nowadays so is Mohit.BK & Dhawal are med-fast.That's our seam bowling scenario right now.Gotta say Umesh looks the best among all in all formats.

Yadav bowled some inswingers with the new ball today. Saw him do this for the first time. Normally he bowls outswingers and incutters with the new ball and inswingers when the ball is reversing.
Yup, Umesh Yadav is able to swing both ways now with decent control, spending time with Wasim Akram is helping him a lot. Bowled with some serious pace and accuracy yesterday, hits 145 to 150 KPH with ease. It was his bad luck yesterday that catches were dropped otherwise bowled a good spell.
