Kane williamson-Seriously underrated???

Williamson hasn't done too well in other parts of the world so he isn't underrated at all. Of course he is still very young and will definitely improve upon those averages. Way too young to be compared with those two. His competition right now is Root, Steve Smith and Matthews.
I actually tip Willamson to go past Kohli to take the second spot behind ABDV due to kohli's inability to handle the moving ball. Hashim bhai is catching up fast to kohli anyway and is better in some aspects as well.

Best young batsman right now for me . He played such a brilliant inning in India when every other team mate of his was failing and I think only Rahane is comparable in tests and root maybe
Rubbish post, kohli is better batsman than both kane&rahane

You are being serious?
Why are you so troubled by opinion of others ? If you disagree please post the reason but Rahane has easily been more consistent and even after getting tons of bad decisions has done well in every tour away from home on his first tours . His inning at lords was brilliant and kohli has played no inning comparable and similarly in New Zealand he was our best batsman and continued it through Australia batting lower and for most part without support with tail starting from number 6

No I seriously thought you were joking... Anyway Kohli at Adelaide was an absolutely brilliant innings as well. In current form, after hitting 4 centuries in 4 tests (you can argue that those were flat tracks but no one else from either team except Smith came close to scoring as many runs) Kohli is far better than Rahane, IMO.

Also I am ignoring odis here which should be very clear by what I am saying as neither of Rahane or Williamson come close to kohli who is one of best batsman in world in that format and has been for few years now .

Kohli is easily behind Rahane and Vijay in tests, looked like a clown in the series in England, worst aggregate by any no 4 batsman in the 100+ years history of test cricket. LOL at delusional people who compare him with ABDV,Amla,Sanga, etc. He isn't even in the same league as Smith,Williamson,Rahane,Matthews,Root etc. There are 15 batsmen better than him in test cricket today.

Nope I disagree Rahane and vijay have easily been more consistent and better for us . Rahane will never score as much runs because of reason I posted but you can ignore it and also ignore Rahane getting plenty of wrong decisions . Also one series does not make you better but over 4 thought away tours Rahane has done better and all of them were his first away tours . Youi be example of Australian your just see last 2 hours of that tour and see who saved India match and like I said innings in lords in that conditions which were unplayable for everyone else .

You are being too harsh now . In 4 away tours he did well in 3 so it's not all bad but I agree he is not anywhere close to top batsmen in tests right now but can easily get there and when you compare his start away from home to sanga you see how well kohli has actually done Sanga only did well in England in third away tour of England .

Also the first visiting player to score 4 hundreds in 1 series in Australia from 80 years. Please take a look at this Kohli: http://www.howstat.com/cricket/statistics/Players/PlayerYears.asp?PlayerID=3600 and compare it with Rahane: http://howstat.com/cricket/Statistics/Players/PlayerYears.asp?PlayerID=3889 Vijay: http://www.howstat.com.au/cricket/statistics/players/PlayerYears.asp?PlayerID=3626

I didn't ignore it. But things like wrong decisions and batting order positions are a part of the game. And forget runs accumulated but just look at average. If he didn't have any specialist batsman at the non-strikers end and the wickets fell quickly, then he would have stayed not out and boosted his average. But his average is still inferior to Kohli's despite having more of a chance to stay not out than him.

Don't you already know I do it care about stats ? Anyone who followed Indian team in last away tours knows what Rahane did and no amount of stats can change the fact vijay and Rahane were our best batsmen and kohli had very good tour of Australia but so did Rahane and vijay ..kohli scored more but other 2 never failed .

Rahane, kohli, vijay, pujara is the order I'll put the Indian batsmen currently.Kohli will become an ATG surely and will surpass rahane but right now rahane edges him because of that England tour

Also you clearly have no idea the value of vijay as opener playing against best bowlers how does this average even show that ? Or his runs in England where kohli got to bat at easiest time but yet failed every single time .. This is problem with people who only care about stats which only give you slight idea about year batsman had..stat won't show Rahane in 2 tours batted at 6 essentially batting behind Rohit who is failure and with dhoni and rest of tail . In England he got promoted and played best inning by Indian batsman in long time and won't us test match away and in Australia he was easily as good as any batsman but got few bad decisions and batted too low to sever get as many runs as kohli but not once in test series he looked out of place .

Rahane is so much better than Kohli in tests that the comparison is funny. 13 out of 14 matches in RSA,NZ,Eng,Aus and averaged 49 there. In spite of 8 wrong decisions which could have been overturned by DRS he still was so bloody impressive. His century in Lords's was one of the greatest innings by any Indian batsman on the greenest deck I have ever seen in England. Even in his wildest dreams Kohli can't score 30 runs on such a pitch, he is only good enough to score on flat tracks in inconsequential games/dead rubbers after the top 3 have seen of the new ball. Also got 3-4 lucky reprieves in these overseas tests, had Rahane been that lucky he would be averaging 100 by now. Rahane is the standout Indian batsman of this generation but most Indian fans will always rate Kohli above him because they lack the intelligence to appreciate the nuances of test cricket and get easily carried away by JAMODI exploits, glamour, glitz, soundbytes etc which Rahane doesn't have because of his background and nature. Forget Rahane, even Vijay sweeps the floor with Kohli. An opener has to see of the new ball against the likes of Steyn,Morkel,Anderson,Broad,Boult,Southee,Harris,Johnson etc, an uphill task and Vijay did something that no Indian opener since Gavaskar could do. Not only did he average high with many 90s and 100s over the last 2 years but he also played many balls, saw off the new ball, frustrated opponents by his leaves etc and he and Pujara(who ate up many balls) gave Kohli a solid platform on most occasions. Had Kohli been exposed to the new ball every single time(like Dravid,Sachin were in 2011-12), he would have looked like a buffoon. Most of runs are courtesy Vijay and Pujara's resilience. And to think this politician had the nerve to drop Pujara for Raina in the 4th test in Australia. :finger: if someone has to bat for my life in difficult conditions I would prefer Rahane,Vijay,Pujara,Ashwin over Kohli.

Rahane' date='kohli, vijay, pujara is the order I'll put the Indian batsmen currently.Kohli will become an ATG surely and will surpass rahane but right now rahane edges him because of that England tour[/quote'] True and it all depends on how they play at home as both have shown its not given that they will do well at home every time .

In ODIs he will end up as an ATG(still needs to step up in ICC tourneys tough) but I don't think I am being harsh on Kohli in tests. He is a good batsman, nothing more here. Sanga away from home wasn't extraordinary(like Sachin) in his initial years but he always ended up with a mid 30s average. Never have I seen any batsman collapse the way Kohli did in England, he looked like a novice out there, Jimmy Anderson scored more runs than him over the course of 5 tests in spite of playing only half the innings' as Kohli.
