amiret Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 A radio station in Denmark argued on Tuesday that it was merely fulfilling its public service mandate to provoke debate when the host of a morning show beat a baby rabbit to death with a bicycle pump this week during a live discussion of animal welfare. Jorgen Ramskov, the editor in chief of Radio 24syv, a private station supported by fees from listeners, explained in an email that the killing of a nine-week-old rabbit named Allan during a broadcast on Monday was intended to highlight the Danish public’s “hypocrisy when it comes to animal welfare.†NY TIMES The Danish radio presenter who battered a baby rabbit to death live on air may have “had a pointâ€, some people have conceded after the stunt provoked global outrage. Asger Juhl, who was filmed gently stroking the animal before killing it with a bicycle pump, skinning it and cooking it for dinner, said its death intended to expose “hypocrisy†over cruelty in Denmark’s meat industry. The station claimed it had “succeeded†in its mission to raise awareness about cruelty in the meat industry by provoking a global debate. Despite the anger on Twitter, some people said they “understood the point†the broadcaster was making, even if the methods were “excessiveâ€. :(( :(( Couldn't the morons have used "special effects" or a fake rabbit to prove their point ?
randomGuy Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Hats off to the man. It was for a noble cause. If it were a fake rabbit, then it wouldn't have been a news. Videos of cruel animal slaughter on youtube should spoil your day, and not this news.
Tiger80 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Westeners have become biggest hypocrits about animal rights, They eat them but they don't want them to be hit or someone showing them to be killed
randomGuy Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 He was trying to bring your attention to this - http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=3374196&postcount=64
HippoSucks Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 The intention seems noble but the method was a little extreme. They could have come up with some other method of getting attention than killing an innocent rabbit.
coffee_rules Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I thought Kaneria had turned RJ and had gone crazy.
The Outsider Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 What a waste! Could have given it to me. I love rabbit meat. Reminds me to get and cook some over the weekend.
jf1gp_1 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 what about all the fishes, chicken, goat, lamb, pig, cow, buffalos which fill us up on daily basis ?
Debutant Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 People are so sensitive for just a rabbit. I know hotels which serve rabbit meat and I had it few times. Just a rabbit killed, so many animals are killed and eaten every day. Whats the big deal :dontknow:

randomGuy Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I'm astonished at these posts tbh. There is a massive massive massive difference between eating an animal thats had a decent outdoor life for a couple years and butchering a defenceless rabbit over the head with a god damn bicycle pump. Maybe in the US you can apply such logic where cows dont even see a blade of grass in their lives and get pumped with crap 24/7, but that aint the case here and in most of Europe I'd wager. The guy behind this needs to be arrested, fined heavily and the station have their licence revoked and shut down. They did this for one purpose only, ratings, and its despicable. Its like if a US radio station shoved an Indian in an oven and cooked him to raise awareness for the recent heatwave. They could have taken many more courses of action to raise awareness for animal rights, get guests in to talk about the issue, tell the listeners some cases of animal abuse, provide folks with numbers for charities etc. Despicable, not only that but why beat the bloody thing? Why not have it injected? Oh wait, beating it raises more attention, hence their course of action. Pathetic and all involved should be ashamed of themselves. Absolutely hate how some people can be so cruel to household animals who give you nothing but loyalty and love only to be treated like **** and tortured in return. Plus any supposed animal lover who can muster the will to beat a baby rabbit to death seconds after petting it needs a mental evaluationthere's a video that I shared in post#6, I suppose you are OK with killing animals('who have had a decent outdoor lives for a couple of yrs') in that way or in similar ways? May its a way you satisfy your conscience...But sorry coz I find the bolded portion laughable.
Gollum Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Killing animals for food/leather is condemnable. How can you guys have the heart to kill these soft, loving, loyal creatures? We veggies rule.

randomGuy Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 they are fulfilling their purpose plants also live you and acccording to new research feel but you dont have issue eating them Animals we know go through as much torture as a human would if killed in a similar way. Human beings, unlike animals, have a choice of what to eat and have a sense of right and wrong Probably the best way to kill an animal is jhakta meat practiced by Sikhs or these Nepalese Hindus- Https://youtu.be/AFDy5_YtApc In my view, human life is more precious than an animal's life and will support killing of animals if its required to save human life. It so happens that we can lead a healthy life without eating non-veg or using leather products

I agree would have better server to eat it after killing though :--D
Debutant Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Every time I go to buy chicken, the shopkeeper kills it by cutting its neck or by hitting something hard to its back, right in front of me, peels of the skin and cuts it. I don't feel anything, rather feel happy that am gonna eat it :dontknow: How is killing a rabbit any different :idunno:
