HippoSucks Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Cricket is not worth the life of a few police officers. They are heroes in my opinion. But it can be said that the PCB did what it promised and the terrorists couldn't even get to within 800m of the Zimbabwe players. Agreed, the security officials did very well to keep this blast around a half a kilometer away from the Zimbabwe players. But you have to think, is a 5 match tour of Zimbabwe worth risking the lives of 100s of police officers? PCB needs to get realistic here. They should have personally asked the Zimbabwe players to leave IMO. A police officer's life is just as valuable as a Zimbabwe player's.
HippoSucks Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Why are people so disappointed with Zim decision ? Reading all the post i get a feeling as if some were hoping for something like to happening just to slam pak and its situation Because some people here have a sense of humanity and sympathize with the Zimbabwe players. How do you expect them to play knowing that in their last match, a suicide bomber tried to kill them? It just isn't worth completing the tour risking the lives of these players (I don't think anything will happen to them personally, but them playing in fear isn't worth it) and the police officers. Luckily 4 of the 5 matches are already done. It isn't like they didn't even get to play one match. But this is enough now...

I have already said that cricket is not worth innocent people's life.
Guldozer Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 But can I just say that it still isn't officially proven to be a terrorist attack.
dial_100 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 ^ Country with people full of guns and stinger launcher, will cricket ever be worth. Terrorist don't need to get even 1 mile close to the stadium. Stinger launcher go way over 1 mile. I cant imagine how sick it will get if god forbid something like that were to happen. Very high possibility. international teams didn't want to go to SL at some point. They completely eradicated LTTE from their country. barring 26/11 we did not have attack on foreign citizens in a long time. And we feel that there is still lot to be done in India.
Texan Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Zimbabwe should never have toured Pak. It is still a very dangerous country to visit.
Autonomous Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Zimbabwe players are enjoying themselves and padosis here are like from the start of the tour oh they must bhi scared oh kia chalraha hoga unkay mind main and bla bla rubbish.

WTF are you talking about. Just cause they celebrate after tacking a wicket or scoring 50/100 doesn't mean they are enjoying themselves. Enjoying themselves also would include freedom to roam around the city, do a bit of shopping and what not. Not look out the hotel window till practice/match day.

They are being forced to go shopping, I assume, to portray an image that they still feel Pakistan is safe. Otherwise, I don't think the shopping in Lahore is worth it if you have just been targeted by a suicide bomber.

Kalia_Test Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Now even if the forced Zim players and officials come up with tweets and interviews on how safe Pak is - the world will not believe.... Waiting for Monday when Zim players are scheduled to land back in Zim... I hope PCB has minimum courtesy to respect the life of the SI who died while protecting a cricket match....2 min silence/black bands by both teams will atleast acknowledge the sacrifice made by the SI against terrorism
Austin 3:!6 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Ah well, Pakistan will be Pakistan. Action speak louder than words and it is for entire world to see that PCB cannot organize a simple 3 ODI series in its soil against a low profile team like zimbabwe without blood shed. And then they expect high profile teams like Aust, Ind and Eng to tour. Delusions at its very best. I think its high time that Pak fans accept the harsh reality that it is a failed state and no form of cricket is possible unless your govt out all those terrorists. Yes general innocent public will miss home games but nothing is more important than life. Its better off for Pak to continue playing in UAE rather than trying to bring cricket in a nation surrounded by terrorists.

They provided the security but they can't do anything if a suicide bomber conducts a terrorist attack. At least their security arrangements were enough to stop the attack at over half a kilometer away from the stadium.
Guldozer Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Excellent views :hatsoff: But But But he called the general public innocent. He must be wrong?
