- In a strong reaction to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation's resolution on Jammu and Kashmir, India today said it dismisses it with "contempt" and advised the OIC to refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of the country. - "We have seen the OIC Resolution commenting on the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is completely unacceptable. We dismiss it with the contempt it deserves. We advise the OIC to refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of India," Spokesperson in the External Affairs Ministry Vikas Swarup said. - The reaction came after the 42nd Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC, which was concluded in Kuwait yesterday, adopted a resolution regarding Jammu and Kashmir. - The resolution said it regrets "the travel restrictions imposed on the Kashmiri leadership due to non-issuance of travel documents" and noted "with regret the Indian attempt to malign the legitimate Kashmiri freedom struggle by denigrating it as terrorism and appreciating that the Kashmiris condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations". - The meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir was chaired by Special Envoy of the OIC Secretary General on Jammu and Kashmir, Ambassador Abdur Rehman Abdullah Alim. The meeting was attended among others by Sartaj Aziz, adviser to the prime minister of Pakistan on national security and foreign affairs; Elmar Mamadyarov, foreign minister of Azerbaijan; Ambassador Muhammad Ahmed Tayyab of Saudi Arabia, the ambassador of Turkey; and ambassador Dr.Oumarou Amadou Sonrhai of Niger. Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, president of Pakistani Jammu and Kashmir and Kashmiri leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi also attended the meeting, according to Kashmir Media Service. Just read this in the wikipedia link

OIC created the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam.[2] While proponents claim it is not an alternative to the UDHR, but rather complementary to it, Article 24 states that "[a]ll the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Shari'ah" and Article 25 follows with "[t]he Islamic Shari'ah is the only source of reference for the explanation or clarification of any of the articles of this Declaration."
Shiriah law and human rights :lmao:
