Also this movie is being co-produced by loinsgate films, the original producers of the movie, it's there first movie venture in india.

It's good to see so many hollywood big names involved in bollywood, fox studios, Warner, paramount, 20th century and now loinsgate, was reading somewhere Cameron (Avatar and titanic fame)said after Avatar series he is planning to make movies on either ramayana or mahabharat, but acc. To him it will require a much advanced technology and a budget atleast 4-5 times more than Avatar for a single film also it will require 4d technology rathar than imax3d or real 3d so basically we are looking at a budget of 1.25 to 1.5 billion $ per film that is just insane.

Flamy' date=' have you seen this movie yet to release, though warrior was good, let see how this one fares.[/quote'] I saw the trailer and can already tell it will suck. The fellow who is playing Tom Hardy has zero presence.

He also said for ramayana it requires 5 partss and mahabharat atleast 8 parts.
They are epics. 5 or 8 parts might still not capture everything but can do enough justice.

Exactly, but with that budget we are looking at a film series in atleast 10-12 billion for ramayana and 15-20 billion for mahabharat that is huge even for hollywood standards.

And the aping continues. Pro-wrestling and MMA has massive presence in western pop-culture, which is why movies like Warrior, Foxcatcher worked. India has nothing to do with MMA fights, yet bollywood makes these kind of movies. Bollywood is looking very un-indian in recent movies with western stock characters like popular high school diva, jock and coach, mary sue, westernized rich people problems etc.,

Actually Warrior works because the human/family element is genuine and well acted and has some badass fights to top it off- otherwise the plot is entirely predictable. Even if you are not a fan of MMA at all - and I am not- you could enjoy it. I can see the bollywood film Brothers focussing on the action too much to the detriment of the story of the brothers, that balance is what Warrior did well. Plus Akshay, as good a action hero as he is, is a bit old for this part no? 17 years older than Sid M in real life edit:The trailer does look good actually!!
