He said "in other advanced countries" like most of the European countries or countries like Japan, Australia, Canada etc. The number of mass murders, gun crimes in USA are way higher than in other developed countries.

"does not happen." You inserted the "number of mass murders ..." Norway, Sweden, France , Germany, Australia ... all within the last 5 - 6 years. Look, gun crimes are a huge issue in the US. And the US probably has the highest rate of gun violence among developed nations. But, while this incident is as sad and horrible as it gets, the biggest numbers of violent death issues occur in inner cities where 100s of people are gunning each other down every year. That is the gun violence he should be addressing.

And then he "completed his mission" reloading his gun 5 times in the process. I am unable to reconcile the anger that I feel towards him with my views on the death penalty (I am very much against the death penalty). I think a good compromise is for the authorities to let the kid go free. Take him to the neighborhood where he committed this crime, uncuff him and let everyone know he is there. Let nature take its course from here.
