This series loss shouldn't see him get sacked but I don't think anyone deserves such a long rope especially after how poor we've already been in last 18 months (away ODI's)

Without Srini's backing Test match sack was coming for Dhoni anytime and hence his retirement, Dhoni's past ODI performance is backing him for now in the limited overs cricket, 9 months is the time given due to all his past ODI performances.
