Congress leaders are such big idiots. For 16 days they said' date=' we will not let parliament function and no debate. On second last day they allowed Sushma Swaraj, arguably one of the best speaker chance to speak who humiliated them badly. Then these dolts walkout giving chance to even better speaker Arun Jaitley to tear them apart with facts uninterrupted. As if this humiliation is not enough now they want PM, an even more dangrrous orator to speak. Bhai my advice kapde utar jaayenge. I remember the popular saying, "Chaubey jee chale that chabbe banne dubey ban ke aa Gaye".[/quote'] DUbey? They have become Nobey.

The big loser in all of this are the billion plus people of India. As far as political party brownie points are concerned - in the early part of these boycotts, it seemed like Congress was running away with the lead in trying to make Lalitgate sound like a big scam. They were able to get opposition united and were able to plaster Lalitgate all over the mediascape. However, the last 2-3 days have turned the situation completely around. People of the country realize that Lalitgate is nowhere close to scams like the 2G scam, Coalgate, CWG scam. Parliament obstruction has now become the big hot topic and nobody actually even cares about Lalit Modi. Yesetrday's speeches from Swaraj and Jaitley have finally and firmly put the ball back in the Congress court. Pressure is now on Congress and questions asked of them why they have wasted tax payer money over the entire Parliament session.

If I were to compare this to a T20 match, then Umar Akmal, Shoaib Mallik and Misbah Ul Haq started really well and set up a good total and then Pak even got some early Indian wickets. But then, Raina and Kohli started blasting fours and sixes to get India close to the target..................and best of all, Dhoni is yet to bat. :winky:

Jaitley's speech was devastating. Even better than Swaraj's IMO. In 28 mins he busted all the myths spread by Cong in the last 28 days. BJP should use social media to make as many people watch this speech as possible. Also, why the hell didn't BJP and/or Jaitley bring these facts earlier, especially at the very beginning of this 'controversy' - these revelations of how Cong did everything possible to NOT bring LaMo to India & how he was not a fugitive or wanted by any court till 5 Aug 2015 would have had a big impact and may have prevented the session from being wasted.
I agree. It showed again why he is in wrong ministry. He is brilliant legal mind. Tore that argument to shreds. I think for all people in all walks of life it was a must watch to see how logically frame an argument, give a background and then finally bell the cat.

Also' date=' did you guys notice Sonia Gandhi's face when Sushma Swaraj was telling how Rajiv let Anderson go in exchange her his friend - she looked as if she was ready to kill BJP leaders.[/quote'] The omerta has been broken finally. It was kind of an unofficisl law not to target gandhis personally, but they jut asked for it hree

Between all this fiasco, I am really very impressed with BJD. They showed to both BJP and Congress as to how opposition party should behave. Their MP Jay Panda, Pinaki Mitra have been very articulate and humble during the debate on television also.

Yup. They really crossed a limit when they wasted pretty much an entire session on this non issue of LaMo, and worse still, didn't go for a debate after asking for it.

As much as I hate the fact that an entire session has been wasted, I do think this has been an extremely short sighted strategy by Maa-Beta. Wasting an entire session of parliament was the most they could have done on any issue and now they have done it - they have played their most potent card but because of Rahul's lack of experience, they have wasted it on such a small issue. They have opposed this country's most important economic legislation (gst) which they themselves brought in 2006, and which is pretty much in the same form as they wanted it, and they have started to lose the confidence of 'secular' allies as well. Also, for the 1st time in 15 years Sonia Gandhi, the same woman who sat quietly as coal/2g/cwg scams happened, has come out openly and led the Cong in disrupting an entire session and not letting very crucial bills passed just because she and her son wanted to oppose the Govt. Maa-Beta seem to have forgotten that this is just the 1st year and 4 more years, and about 15-20 more sessions of parliament are remaining. Let's see how they will oppose the Govt on far bigger issues (and there is no doubt that there will be far bigger issues in months to come). Having the Cong expose itself in such a manner is the only reason I can think of as to why BJP let Cong get away with wasting an entire session and asked Sushma/Jaitley to speak only on the 2nd last day. It took them just one hour (32 mins of Sushma and 28 mins of Jaitley) to demolish every argument of Cong and answer every one of its charges against Sushma/BJP. Could they have done it on the 1st day of the session itself - yes. Did they deliberately choose not to speak till the end of the session - I'm beggining to think that that might be the case.

The only question remains is even if Sushma did no wrong' date=' as per her belief, why didn't she informed the Finance ministry about her Action?[/quote'] I don't think there is a doubt that there were lots of mistake done by Sushma Swaraj in this case. First was sending the letter by herself which should have been written by Secretary level person not the minister. Secondally, not informing either the Finance Minister or the Prime Minister as this case surely involved a person who not only hadd shady past but also she had family relations. Where these mistake so grave that she needs to give resignation? That is one question which can be debated. Looking at her past and the way she is performing the role of Foreign Minister, I would give her benefit of doubt but yes with a warning from Prime Minister. The case should end there itself. I think congress lost the opportunity of creating an impression of inefficient ministers in Modi government rather they went for corruption which was the main reason they have egg on their face.

Sushma Swaraj issue wasn't big enough to bring this kind of disruption. Protest may be required in ceratain cases but Congress made big error of judgement in doing it for Sushma/Lalit Modi issue.

They are still making mistakes... They rightly targeted Ma-Beta the other day. Today in their rally all the BJP leaders are saying things about Congress. Where as they should keep on saying all this happened due to Ma-Beta being sore losers... Ma-Beta should be singled out and attacked and go them in defence. BJP doesn't has ruthlessness... :headshake:

Modi remaining silent was quite disappointing. One of the senior most ministers of the Govt was targeted and an entire parliament session was held up because of that but the PM didn't defend her.

Yup. Rahul's political inexperience is hurting Cong very badly here. Same goes for Govt also - it is absolutely foolish to spend political capital on Maggi and Gajendra Chauhan. There will be far bigger issues in days ahead - Govt should preserve its energy and effort for those instead of fighting these small battles (especially when in case of FTII it is obvious that Chauhan isn't the best man while Maggi seems to have gotten clearance everywhere in the world but not in India).
