I have been to show taping(s), I went to his rally in DC in 2010. He was one of the main reasons why I chose to live in NY/NJ area 5/6 years (wanted to see his show live). His departure is a huge loss. P.S; I have a feeling he wont be gone for long though.

I thought it was a joke when Obama mentioned this. :( Some great hosts have retired this year. I will never forget him interviewing Musharraf after that Abottabad raid. It was so enjoyable. :D

I dont follow him much... but what's the reason for so many late night talk show hosts leaving their spots?? Is there something that i am missing.

The timings of their departure are mostly a co-incidence. Letterman and Leno were simply going too old. Colbert wanted to try something different and Stewart got too bored with what he was doing...

Won't be surprised if there is a political office aspiration there somewhere. Anyway the guy is smart, charismatic, has a clean profile, still relatively young, has a huge following....so don't be surprised. He is Jewish so that could be the only thing that might work against him,no matter how much Jews rule behind the scenes

I actually don't think Trevor will be successful. Comedy Central missed out on john Oliver big time. That guy has some serious talent. Fwiw, I would prefer Jason jones to Trevor.
Trevor Noah may bomb or may be succesful but if you have heard Trevor's standup,it is pretty political and has a social theme pretty much like John Stewart's style of Comedy...On top of that just like John Oliver,he brings in an outsider's perspective as he is not American. As a standup he has had a pretty succesful career so far To add the most over looked aspects of being a success on TV,he is decent looking...Not to forget he is black which will open up his show to a new demographic and for all we know will make him an icon....His humor is not just black only like say a Larry wilmore. So he has more going for him than not.....Yeah you can never tell he might bomb badly but right now there are more positives

I saw his stand up video on youtube and he is pretty funny and you are right that he has opinion about politics and he sounds like a liberal :P I dont really think he has the same energy, talent, knowledge about American politics as John Oliver or Jason Jones do. I have seen him a few times on Jon Stewart and I wasnt impressed. Oh btw, Larry is an epic fail. I watched his show everyday for the first few weeks but when I saw Shehnaz Kareem on it for the 3rd or 4th time, I just couldnt tolerate it. I think he is someone whom I would want to listen to in a segment but not everyday.
