May be wrong thread ' date=' but some of the so called fans are plain pathetic . Stop being so sensitive about players from your state , I have see couple of instances where they take it personally if a player from their part is criticized . Some of the players are hyped endlessly for the same reason , no different from the selectors to pick players from their region , atleast you can imagine them getting a lot of pressure from their state boards , what is your excuse ?[/quote'] Most people know that Saha is the best keeper in India, even ex-keepers consider him as technically correct keeper, so he deserves more chances. Why do you consider yourself as a better cricket expert than these former cricketers.?

As a keeper he is fine on-par with Dhoni. As a batsman long way to go but these string of good scores will give him the confidence to build on.
He has not been keeping well at all, hence he is on par with MSD. If he settles his nerves, etc and keeps like he does in Bengal, he will far surpass MSD's keeping skills.

Having heard so much about that aspect of his game, has been underwhelming to say the least. Hope he steps up, he has played enough matches for the nerves to vanish.

Whoever is choosen as the keeper has to be given a longish run of around 15 tests or so, unless he is really bad. There is no one who is a clear choice over the rest, if we combine keeping and batting. Saha is surely among the better picks available. He is doing well with the bat and his keeping is occasionally showing signs of nerves. Now that Saha has been chosen...We should give him time and not be so impatient.

However, he is only in the 6th test, and has been playing consecutive tests very recently. Even Sarfaraz Ahmed (currently one of the best around) had a slow start to his international career.
