For all the SAHA haters, he has done decently well today....

I am not saying, he is world beater. But he is a very good keeper and more than handy in Sub-continent pitches. A very good innings on a spinning track. He has applied himself and was out for a bad umpiring decision Even DHONI wouldn't have done more on this pitch

I still maintain he is a quota pick. however he has earned the right to be selected for the rest of the series. That much I will say

He isn't quality but seems to fight well. If Kaushal was accurate, he could have got Saha under 10 runs which is also true. We unfortunately don't have many options. And Saha deserves his run.

Fighting cricketer. Reminds me of Robin Singh. But' date=' he is 31. I don't think he is a long time prospect. Hopefully Samson will start doing well in the future to replace him.[/quote'] Samson is not a regular keeper in Ranjis - keeping over 5 days is very different from hit-and-ggigle T20s. Moreover, his batting has also heavily regressed - his FC, List A and T20 avgs are quite ordinary. I have better hopes of Bains and Kishan, who are much younger and will hopefully improve in Ranjis.

We dont have a choice but to celebrate an occasional 50 like this one . There is hardly anyone on domestic who will push him . We are stuck with keepers like him for a while

He has the best batting stats of any regular domestic keeper who has played for 3-4 seasons at the least - avgs of around 45 in both FC and LOI.

I don't have much expectations from him but I like his fighting spirit. A fighter is what we want to see because Dhoni the batsman isn't going to be replaced in the foreseeable future. I want Saha to be tight behind the stumps(his slip up yesterday is unpardonable and such **** ups will cost us matches/series when RSA tour next), more vocal to lift the spirits of our players and score a 28(60) consistently.

Decent knock.60 from no.6 is what the normal expectations should be.We already were well leading so there wasn't much pressure as well tbh . Still a lot to prove in both batting and more importantly in keeping .Anyway he deserves his place for atleast till SA series to prove his worth

I hope that Saha and whoever else follows will rectify this.

Aakash Chopra is someone I respect a lot, especially his knowledge about our domestic players. He once said that Saha was the best pure keeper in India after Nayan Mongia. Hope yesterday's miss was just a one off.

Hope yesterday's miss was just a one off.[/quote'] I don't think that we have seen the best of Saha as a keeper, and we haven't seen his batting potential either. Here was a batsman who regularly bailed Bengal (and zonal sides) out of sticky situations on a regular basis - the go-to man. Reflected in his FC and LOI avgs of 45 or so.
