I was going with the T20 Cups. He's the only one who looked good when pitch had some pace and bounce. Yuvi & Raina are quite deadly on sub-continent pitches or where the bounce and pace is not much. On a pace friendly track Rohit generally shows up. Hope he translates his talent and potential to odis and Test cricket

Next WT20 is in Sri Lanka. No need to invest in specialist T20 players. Rohit looked absolutely clueless in South Africa against pace and bounce.

The guy must go straight in to odi team minmum. And be given a 6 moth run. He will prove his class. His perfromances in domestic cricket have been superb and he has slimmed down. To me he is pushing for test place. Only young batter I would pick ahead of him in test team is Kohli. Apart from that I would pick him ahead of Pujara and co.

But Pujara did not show much in SA but I do rate him. In fact both Pujara and Shrama struggled in SA but both are young and not established, tough examanation there. Both if get a run against easier teams/conditions will come on and improve massivley cos of that. And next time they play in SA they will be much better for it and deliver. Never understimnate youth in terms of ability and improvement. Am sure Sharma will have learnt and improved massivley from SA tour. He is 23 and I believe his time is now

I wouldn't say he looked totally clueless. After all he was the key member of the T20 Cup winning team and his innings against SA in that tourney, played on one of the most seam friendly pitches I have ever seen in a T20, was outstanding. Having played with Tendulkar would help him quite a bit and should at least be given an extended run in the national team. He's only 23 and way too soon to be discarded as a has been.

Dinesh karthik for all his mediocrity , did very well both in England and SA in the tests. So we cannot strictly go by performances in SA. Yes. he looked out of place lot of times. But even SA commies were of the opinion Rohit has lot more time to play bowlers. Forget about Rohit doing well in South Africa.. Let him do well in India for India first.

I have always rated Rohit Sharma as a batsman with a lot of potential, and if he doesn't let the IPL riches mess up his work ethic he has everything in him to make it big. But saying that he is comfortable against pace and bounce is simply not true - he needs to do a lot of work. Pujara really impressed me in the partnership with Laxman at Durban - did not score too much, but showed the necessary technique. Sharma is too loose against quality bowling at the moment.

From what i have seen from our young batsman, Rohit has the most natural talent but in terms of being the total package, Virat Kohli is our best prospect. I also really like the look of Pujara. I think it is a bit sad that Badrinath will probably never get a run in the side.

But I always get the feeling whenever I see Rohit playing that he has got so much time for playing his shot. The thing which was seen in Inzimam, even if he is playing fastest bowler of this planet it seems he has got ample time, that laziness sometimes when he is on song gives immense pleasure to the eyes.
