Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I was looking at the SR of the batsmen of the Indian team and the highest is Raina @135.Where is the power hitter/finisher to hit out at 150-160?
fineleg Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 India-A team has a slightly better margin over India team in T20, and even in A-team there are no real power hitters. I dont think we have the kinda power players, period. Having said that, Rahane, Rayudu, MSD, Axar should not be in T20
Afridi90 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Those r useless players only good in IPL where they play for money
G_B_ Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 to be fair Raina and MSD were the power hitters. The batting was really not the issue.
HippoSucks Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 India doesn't have any batsman who is specifically a slogger but that isn't needed since many players like Rohit, Kohli, Raina etc can accelerate at the end.
jf1gp_1 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 we have to find utility players the Faulkner kinds who come in at 6 and 7 in t20. we need to develop the likes of rishi dhawan, pandya, negi; can slog from first ball can give you 2-4 overs.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 BlueBee Agree.Gurkeerat and Pandya are good options. BlueBee 1
tweaker Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Also Pawan Negi,Deepak Hooda.Sarfaraz Khan can also score quick with innovative shots
BlueBee Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Not sure about Negi but Hooda and Sarafarz are good.
Bigg Brother Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Any IPL hack can be and should be picked over Raydu at 6.What a brainless decision to pick him for t20s...Rahane should be picked over Dhawan.Sent from my HTC Desire X dual sim using Tapatalk
Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 (edited) @Bigg Brotheri agree. But we need someone like Russel or UV. Edited October 4, 2015 by Malcolm Merlyn
moniker Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 There are just four batsmen in the world who have 150+ strike rates in T20Is. We have Raina, Hitman and Kohli all having 130ish strike rates, which should be just about enough.http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/records/282920.htmlMaybe once Dhoni is gone we can get someone like Ojha to provide some impetus down the order.
rkt.india Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Likes of Hooda, Pandya will be far better at 6 than Rayudu in T20. We aren't lacking options at all just intent from selectors.
Lannister Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Dhoni and Rayudu are useless especially when they come in at 5th and 6th. We need to invest in the likes of agarwal and other young players.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 Likes of Hooda, Pandya will be far better at 6 than Rayudu in T20. We aren't lacking options at all just intent from selectors. Unko chance to mile. What i am hearing is that this selection committee may get 1 year extension.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 ek match me hi shuru hogaye Which was the las T20 we won?
zakk Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Which was the las T20 we won? haan to us se power hitter ka kya lena dena hai?
Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 haan to us se power hitter ka kya lena dena hai?Last overs mein koi acceleration nahi hota.We collapse like Collapso Kings.
