No more flat pitches for home matches please !!!!

Suffice to say we have no pacers who can do anything of note on flat decks. It was embarrassing to see our trundlers in action today in comparison to RSA quickies. They don't have the pace or skillset to trouble international quality batsmen on such pitches. Once they leak runs in the initial overs it becomes very difficult for spinners to get us back in the game and moreover on such pitches they are neutralized to a great extent. Our strength is spin,has always been. We need tracks which assist the slower bowlers, not these which reduce the game to slogathons. Which brings me to the second point. Gone are the days when we used to have an explosive batting lineup capable of racking up big scores. The present bunch are pretty good strokemakers who can also maneuver the ball very well on  two paced/ abrasive/ spinning tracks. If you look at our reserve batsmen there are no big hitters there also. In these flat decks we can outmuscle teams like Lanka, Pakistan etc but will fall short almost every time against RSA, NZ,Aus,Eng etc.,To hell, our odds of winning on green mambas are way better than on these decks. Who the hell is the Mumbai curator who handed the match to RSA on a silver platter today? guy must be fired ASAP.

The same thing holds true for test matches too. In Lanka we got nice sporting wickets helping our bowlers a great deal. Even in the overseas matches in 2012-2015 we did much worse on flat pitches where the opponents simply bulldozed our bowling lineup whilst using scorecard pressure and the superiority of their quicks to get 20 wickets. Our only win was on a lush green mamba in Lord's. We can lay out green tops for visiting batsmen and expect to do better than on flat pitches. But spinning pitches are our strength, we have to use our home advantage. I's say roll out the kind of pitches we had against Australia in 2013. We have world class spinners and pacers who know the art of reverse swing. I don't know what sort of wickets we are going to get in the test series but Mohali, Bangalore and to a lesser extent Nagpur haven't prepared pitches to our advantage for many years, probably never. I am pretty sure FSK,Delhi will roll out a turner and is our best chance of winning a test match. If the other 3 pitches roll out their normal pitches expect a rout. Amla, ABCD, Du Plessis, Kock will churn out 100s, 200s, 300s and Steyn will use zippers to good effect. If we get pitches like we got against Australia, we will probably whitewash them seeing that their best spinner is inferior to India's 10th best spinner. Remember the Australia ODI series in 2013 in India. That was won by India only just because pulled off a game thanks to Rohit's 200. Else, even that series, we were seriously challenged.

Slowly, I am seeing that Indian team is probably the weakest team at home compared to other teams. Maybe SL because of their rough patch are struggling at home.

Indian pitches are second home ground for South Africans owing to IPL experience.   SA is always a good ODI side in a bilateral series.. Considering how our team is grossly imbalanced with absolute duds in the lower order . Credit to them. 2-3 is  decent result for us. Dhoni is not the same anymore. Raina out of form. Kohli was not good until this series. Dhawan out of form. Rahane is still blowing hot and cold.  Lack of reliable FTBs is also a reason.

Hope so. But Nagpur, Mohali, Bangalore have never rolled out pitches like Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai. Especially in winter Mohali and Bangalore may cost us the series. If I am not wrong the guy who oversaw pitch preparation for the last ODI, Daljit Singh will also prepare the Mohali wicket.

Yes. Our pathetic lower order is one reason. Once you get top 5, you are in with a chance of win even if the target is only 25 runs away. This will continue. Not sure how it can be fixed. Panni, Axar, Ashwin are not the answers. None of them can do the damage a no.7 batsman should do.

india, Pakistan,srilanka,Bangladesh produced great batsman koz of Flat wickets, no one can stops them,one team scores 600 for 4.next team pile up 752 for first innings 3 point.

when Ravi S told curator sudhir Nayak regarding Mumbai wicket , sudhir says,'' I know of wicket in india because myself, I also played test matches for india and that is how its happen in asia if you bat first ''

I remember once Nayak, scored 77 on debut, at Birmingham, when india lost Gavaskar, wadekar and Aabid ali for 27 on board, nayak was 6th out, 23 short of his debut century.. well its quite remarkable that team bats first won all 5 matches here in india vs southafrica series.2015
