BCCI gives Test status to six more Venues

BCCI confirmed Test status for Pune, Ranchi, Indore, Rajkot, Visakhapatnam and Dharamsala. I think this is a good move as people from more venues will be able to watch Test cricket, yeah Test audience is not high at most places but still those who are interested can now watch in their hometown instead of travelling.

I think test venues should be awarded based on local interest. Places that can bring in crowd should get preference. Empty stadiums look really bad.

Dharmshala stadium is usually snow-clad in winters from December to January, so, matches cannot be played at that time, probably October-November or later in Feb-March.

For teams like Aus-Eng & SA. We should restrict the venues to Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai (both Wankhede and Brabourne), Kolkata, Delhi, Kanpur, Ahmedabad.

 

Leave these chutku stadiums for other teams like NZ,WI, SL etc.
