Pls give the rounded-off average. Like if you eat home-made dinner 5.5 days a week on average then vote 6 days, for 5.4 days, vote for 5 days.

You can also tell what type of cuisine you like to order or go out to eat. You can also tell about your lunch patterns if you like.

Pls include food cooked from scratch by any member at home and even leftover of food that was cooked earlier. Please don't include ready-made food that one just heats in the microwave. Anonymous poll.

I cook about 2 to 3 days a week, rest by SO. Take out or eat out on Sat/Fri night. I love cooking. Most weekend lunches are by me. I don't like to eat outside as what I cook, is much better than what I get anywhere outside.

 I think those  who have posted above are great if they cook so often. I voted two or three days. Usually cook daal-chawal only and sometimes eggs. I can make rotis but am too lazy for that almost always.

Mostly cook veg at home. We cant make Rotis so use frozen rotis by Pillsbury.

We mostly cook, daal, rice, veg (cauliflowers, beans etc.), Thai noodles, pad thai, Chinese hakka noodles, many soups, Idli, Dosa, PavBhaji, Chole and some sprouts. Tried grilling few times but it is like once in a while thing.

Outside, most Biryani or Schlotzsky's. Not very fond of other India restaurants.

Home cooked meal everyday of my life except for bday's and some events. I live with my in laws who really don't like hotel food even on special occasions. When we get outside food there will always be comments like we could have done so much better at home. They don't seem to think i need break from cooking everyday. On weekends sat/sun i cook something special like chicken,fish curry/fry/biryani  veg pulao, fried rice pooris etc. Rest of the days it is rice and some  vegetable curry or dal . Noodles idli/dosa/poha/upma moong dal chilla etc for breakfast. This christmas i have invited friends over for lunch so will be preparing all of my favourite dishes and cake of course. Planning to go out for new years though. Frankly hotel food is really overrated. Many times i have ordered from outside and the food is just blah. I only order when i am fed up of cooking. Eating out for me is less about the food and more about relaxing with my hubby or friend.

Mine is completely opposite. I don't like veg food, hence don't like cooking veg too. I love cooking non - veg. Specially now a days, there is so much rain, I can't go out to play on weekends, so spend most of my time cooking and trying out new non veg dishes.

@Book_Worm.Learn to ignore their comments.

If you stop getting food from outside or going out in response to their comments ,then it becomes a way to get their way.(even if they might be doing it because they think it is right).

Ignore the comments and they will realize the comments are not going to get the desired results.Slowly the comments will reduce.

Another option is to cook extra for lunch so that there is enough left over for dinner for them.Cook one special extra dish and  let them eat at home .You go out with husband for your dinner.

If you just bend over all the time and don't try to change things,you will only end up being bitter and resentful ,which is neither good for you,nor them.

Change things slowly. You are a family member with wishes and desires,not just a service provider.
