express bowling
Nathu Singh bowled 2 vicious short balls . One was at 140 k and the other at 136 k. Looked a lot quicker than that. Link to comment
tweaker
NathuSingh last bowl at 140 kmphHe is certainly a good learner, does not repeat his mistakes express bowling 1 Link to comment
Mosher
It was good thinking by Nathu to bowl short to Jadhav but he should mix it up. Jadhav was expecting the short ball and was hanging back and smashing it. express bowling 1 Link to comment

express bowling
Nathu bowls last over at 140 k, 138.5 k, 137 k, 136 k, 135 k and slower ball. ( not in order ).Swung the ball both ways but primarily inswing.Bowled a good bouncer and a slower ball.Only length ball got hit for a 4, although it swung in.The others were yorkers and low full tosses. rkt.india
Nathu still has a long way to go. I would have been ecstatic if he had bowled pace in range of 140-145. He still can gain pace but with the kind of action he has, he might or might not gain a lot of pace. He needs to play at least 2 FC season before making any judgement on him for Indian team. tweaker 1 Link to comment

rkt.india
Not many Indian bowlers have the bowling action that is ideal for pace. Ankit Rajpoot has that round arm action which likes of Akhtar and Brett Lee had, but he has a shortish runup. Avesh has that type of action to but not refined. tweaker 1 Link to comment

Hurries batsmen often and sometimes makes them jump. This ability is a big plus.He has a stock delivery too...does not bowl a different type of ball every time. This is quite noticeable in his first spell.Attempts yorkers all the time and often succeeds, tries the slower delivery too. Has a good bouncer. He does not look like a brainless spray-gun and when he gets hit, it is often trying to do something correct and not succeeding rather than mindless bowling.I like these above qualities. tweaker 1 Link to comment

He might not bowl 90 mph plus in future, but ingredients are there. Bleed-Blue 1 Link to comment

Would be surprised if he bowls quicker than that.He uses a lot of shoulder and hence the consistent bounce...but just that won't get him to 145 k +. express bowling
He is Pattinson type of bowler who puts a lot of shoulder effort.Exactly. But Pattinson has a faster and smoother run-up where he is able to transfer the momentum. Avesh needs to improve this. Another issue that even Pattinson faces is up and down pace even within a spell...same as Avesh. We actually need a couple of such bowlers with shoulder dependent action...to hit the deck hard and get bounce.
