Yes, I believe per deal. And of course the length of contract factors into it too. Kohli is rightly a megastar.

Despite such big superstardom cricketers earn quite less than bollywood superstars. Likes of Salman and SRK earn upto 200 crore in a year. According to forbes list in 2014 Salman earned 250 crore and that was when his movie Jai Ho was average. Even Big B at this age earns close to 175 crore a year.

In BCCI there are 3 category of players. A, B and C.

A gets 7 Lakh per ODI

B gets 5 lakhs per ODI 

C gets 3 lakhs per ODI

Tests, t20 is different amount. Test being the highest obviously. IPL isn't included in BCCI earnings. 

They have a contract where it says these will be the minimum number of matches they will be paid for. 

B level cricketer without endorsements will usually earn around 5 crs each year.

30-40 crore? that's 4-6 million USD. I believe Dhoni and Kohli make considerably more than that.
