Unchanged XI

There are so many benefits of playing with an unchanged XI, no matter whatever be the condition or situation demands...the 3 teams which qualified for the WcT20 Semifinals realised it after following what Team India is doing and helped themselves by continuously playing with an unchanged XI...

All these talks of horses for the courses are rubbish... The team should be such that it should adapt itself to any condition or situation... That's what the champion team leaders and the teams are made of...

Though the other teams actually started out by picking the right horses for the courses, Dhoni's strategy is even more brilliant as he has covered all bases in his 11 so he does not even have to worry about planning for conditions. After the first ball is bowled, he has the luxury to decide what course is it and what horses to use

If u have the right combination then it's pointless to change the combination just for the sake of it .

Our combination isn't the issue .The only issue was lack of usage of Yuvi in the middle overs. Our bowling is hardly an issue this tournament .

The problem so far has been the batting and fielding .Batting let us down against NZL and fielding nearly let us down against Bangladesh

The great Aussie teams that won world cup rarely changed their combinations .So he's chamion teams trust their XI and don't make random changes

So if batting is an issue, it means either the batsmen are not in form or struggling due to conditions, which could point at the playing 11 not being perfect :hmmmm:

I guess, all we need is square turners so those who have not performed with the bat get an opportunity to perform with the ball! Who needs to change 11 if the tracks can be changed to suit the form of the players!! :two_thumbs_up:

Numbers are not surprising. Our openers average about 10 ever game. So that means the rest have to score big to achieve a decent score batting first.

Chasing, why not Virat open? Seriously, he is coming in soon anyway.

When 5 out of your top 7 avg around 10, a side needs to strengthen its bowling attack if it is doing well .... Just like when your batsmen are in hot form and if bowlers are not doing well, you play an extra (7th) batsmen. Best way Ind can do is defend or set up total that Virat, Dhoni and Rohit can get. Runs from others = bonus

If Virat opens, it would mean that it is a slightly different role so he could go after the bowling early on and can get out. On the other hand, if he walks in at 3 if Ind has lost an early wkt, his role is already defined. If he walks in after a good start, he knows how to play from there as well

How about opening with Rahane, and either drop Dhawan or get him batting at 4 or 5, dropping Raina

Its too late to do that anyway

:whack: that dhawan on the bottom pisses me off more than anything..

I am quite surprised that his average is in double digits. :hysterical:

What we should have done is tried out Iyer and Pandey in Aus and Asia Cup

Unfortunately, only thing we can play with is the 15 in the squad .... and hope that they do well

New zealand (injuries aside as they rested Gutpill v BD) have made changes. They dropped their main frontline pace bowlers for extra spinners in the first match v India in Nagpur. They have been highly adaptable with their bowlers.

Even England have chopped and changed in the 4 matches they have played. Especially their pacers in Topley and Plunkett. Windies, (injuries and rest aside) have been pretty consistent with their team.

Nobody is talking about wholesale changes. But India are carrying a bit too many passengers. Rohit Dhawan Raina Pandya and Yuvi have not performed with the bat. Would not be the worst idea to make 1 change.

This is what my gut feeling is or fear is with Australia

-Pandya on that Mohali pitch is going to be murdered with the ball.

- Yuvraj down the order is not going to be able to hit out from the start

These two are my biggest fears. I personally think the Indian fielding has been great so far and I trust bummers not to be as dumb as fuck as wahab in the death v Aus.

Negi for Yuvi with Pandya batting at 6, is not the worst call in the world. A quick fire 15 runs in like 10 balls and 2 tighish overs to share aside Raina is what is needed.

:whack:He better perform tomorrow

Sometimes Same XI shit making guys like this and Maggi very lazy because they know MSD won't change doesn't matter how shit they perform..

I think these 2 ought to perform now. Can't dream of batting in Wankhede before finishing the job in Mohali.

We have to hope that the law of averages work in Ind's favor .... and all those who have been duds will start having good games (even if it means nicks going for 4s and 6s)

Pandya bowls then we are going to see 20 run overs,Yuvi has to bowl here.

So spinners will have to bowl that length to get turn. Hope our batsmen are upto the task too.

Yep, hopefully the batsmen would do well or at least the law of averages would work for them.  Or someone like Zampa could walk out as a hero :cantstop: .... Also ball could grip for the likes of Flaukner as well
