Being one of the 5 best batsmen in ODIs, losing Dhoni would definitely weaken our batting. But batting will never be India's problem. India will continue to produce good batsman and remain as one of the best batting sides.   

 

Dhoni is 34 and would be 37 by the 2019 World Cup. His batting may deteriorate, but his captaincy won't. We are ranked #1 in T20s and #3 in ODIs. Within a year of Dhoni retiring, we will be competing with Pakistan and the West Indies for the #8 spot.

Rather than reacting to India's loss yesterday, I don't mind Dhoni the captain going as long as Dhoni the player remains in our side. 

 

I also hope BCCI is looking into emerging talent to identify potential wicket keeper batsman who is good with the bat. Anyone from Ranji trophy who is exciting?

I don't see any good  new  LOI batsman keeper, who is ready to play for India just now.

 

Guys like Samson and Pant are not ready yet.

 

Samson did decently in SMA Trophy though but  he is not that consistent yet.  His keeping may not be the best also.

I was impressed with Rishabh Pant. Have to keep a close eye on how he goes in the coming years.

True....but he will take atleast 2 years to be ready for international cricket.

I have high hopes from Rahul Dravid the coach. If the U19 is anything to go by, we have an exciting bunch of young cricketers to look forward to.

Dhoni as a keeper batsman is still the best in country so he must play but he should give up captaincy but I am 100% sure he won't as he gets very defensive about it in press conferences plus I am not sure why the reporters ask him about quitting or retiring, they should just ask about giving up captaincy but continuing to play.
