Dew - Too much of advantage for chasing teams in T20

The problem of dew has always been there. In this World T20 I feel too many evening games the chasing team has had unfair advantage when dew sets in.

 

Not only the spinners become useless, but quicks struggle to bowl those all important yorkers or slow bouncers, cutters. Frequency of full tosses start increasing. Worse the bowler is constantly worried with gripping rather than executing his plans.   

 

Some of the games I watched with alot of dew: WI v Eng (group match), Eng v SA (group match), Ind v Pak (Group match), Ind v WI (SF), Eng V WI (Final),

 

All matches above were won by chasing teams with ease (except for the finals, though chasing team still won!). 

 

In ODIs at least both teams get to play in dew-free before dew comes but in this world t20 the 2nd innings mostly began when dew started to set in.

 

With the dew, it effectively became if win-toss then game won. Hopefully this imbalance is addressed in the future.

 

Maybe both teams should play later where both have to play in dew, then at least importance of toss is reduced.

Evening games are the most exciting time to watch cricket. The pleasure of white ball in night sky is fun. But, I agree dew does play a part, but what can we do as it is part of nature?

The only way to tackle due is to complete the games by 8 PM.The more later the game goes on,chasing team gets more advantage.

Maybe follow the IPL example, where evening started late, around 8pm

 

for level playing field,  ICC should have played evening games at 9pm, so both teams would have to deal with dew when bowling

You mean both teams get to play with the due?

Yeah, both the teams has to play in dew or both should not.

 

For weekend matches they can even play between 4-7 pm or 5-8 pm before dew sets in.

 

Alternatively play 9pm-12 am to even dew factor out.

Very true, dew factor driven this world cup toss factor to a high. This world cup saw 18-5 record for toss winner, last world cup was 12-11 and the one before had less than 50% win for toss winner. It has become so predictable that the charm of the tournament was almost lost.

Simple scrap the toss decide bowling and batting on some other skill factor something like super over.

Couple of England bowlers had trouble gripping the ball yesterday because of sweat. Not dew.

 

In any case, dew has been a factor in cricket long before T20s. Day night ODIs at certain venues have had a few problem for decades. 

 

Indian fans are waking up to the dew effect only in the last few days since it contributed to India`s exit from a world cup.

Play  four innings of 10 overs each ..equal conditions for the team ..both team get advantage of dew in their second innings

no, it was not dew but sweat due to heat and humidity.
