Justt just realized we have more or less qualified.Ireland/Canada not only to win the both their matches but also need huge GD swing .Not gonna happen.Canada are real minnows and our final opponent in GS.

Also in the other Group Australia lying in 3rd spot now and cant top the group. So the disadvantage of finishing fourth and Facing Aussies is also not there. So this loss doesnt really matter.

If we win against Canada which we  most likely will, we will finsh 4th orherwise 3rd .Most likely face the loser of the match between Spain and Belgium. We have a very real chance of reaching semi finals imo

Both Sindhu and Saina winning their first match

Sindhu 21-8,21-9 Saina 21-17.21-17

Sindhu won it comfortably whereas Saina was facing a local Brazilian and she was getting a lot of support from the home crowd.  First set was quite close.  Overall, good start from the women's singles

We have officially qualified for the knock outs in Hockey .First time since our Gold in 1980 that we have qualified for knock outs

:hatsoff: to the Indian team

Nice!

This year they changed the format where top 4 from each group qualify to knockouts whereas atleast in the last couple of olympics, the top 2 from each group qualified for the semis and the rest played for 5-12 places.

Archery games have been awesome, especially Taipei vs Norway where the Taipei archer started off terribly (scored 5 and entered the blue zone once) and made a great comeback in the last two sets with the game going to the penalty round.

Have some expectations from Atanu Das.

+1. Thanks to star sports i have started liking a new sport. Also this depends on individual performance so i like it more. No matter what opponent does, if you are good it will be good.

Saina looked a bit annoyed with the noise. Local was getting full support and to match that the desis present weren't relenting too.
