Yeah.....he will only be 31 for the next world cup......there will be all kinds of drama like president of Argentina requesting him etc etc and then he will make a heroic comeback only to choke again.

Maybe he won’t change his mind. Perhaps this is really is it at international level for a generational talent who finally just got sick of it all. Whatever the state of Messi’s tortured soul right now, for the sake of soccer and sports in general, let’s hope not. He was frustrated along with his teammates, at the incompetent travel arrangements Argentina’s national federation had put together that caused delays and left them fatigued ahead of the Copa America final. With ICC admitting that they fix the pool so that there is atleast 1 India vs pak match in the group stage, what's the guarantee that ICC, other cricket boards and players don't fix the matches? Maybe there is behind the scenes understanding/talks to make certain team a winner of a tournament for various reasons. Sachin ko to WC jeetakar hi chodna tha BCCI ko if that meant losing all the overseas test matches or games for the next 2-3 years and embarassing ourselves. Btw same applies for Aus winning 2015 wc and WI winning t20 2016.
