Ankit_sharma03 Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 (edited) India opener Shikhar Dhawan, who got hit on his left thumb by a Trent Boult bouncer in the third over of Indias second innings on Sunday, was taken to a city hospital for x-ray. Dhawan got out for 17 adjudged leg before wicket to Boult leaving India tottering at 34/3 in the 11th over. Upon returning to the dressing room, the team doctor advised him for a check-up as the Delhi southpaw was complaining of pain, it was learnt. "He was at the hospital for five minutes roughly. The x-ray report is yet to come. There is some doubt whether he will be able to take the field," a source close to the development said. If Rahul isnt fit for Odi it will be a chance for Rahane, which i hope it is not I really want KL rahul to open in ODi and make that top 3 look one of the most dangerous batting linup in world. But never know if gambhir score runs he might also make a comeback in odi, specially with the love teams have for Left-right opening combo

And i highly doubt Gambhir will back for loi's.

I always beileve ur best player should get max no of balls as it only 300 balls. Also Rahane, dhawan and even rohit none of them set the Powerplay on fire so we need someone to exploit that. It also presents opp for pandey to bat up and even dhoni. We all have seen how batting up has impacted career of kohli, rohit, yuvi, sachin, ganguly in Odi. Also let Kl rahul get use to one position in all formats. Rahane wud do good but Kl rahul wud be on diff level. As far as middle n lower order firepower is concerned we should find player for that place rather than top order batsman bat low. Neways all depends on his injury now..... Bleed-Blue 1

We will just have to wait and see now what Dhoni and Kumble decide to do in Lois now.
Tibarn Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 It's not that big of a deal for tests, since Rahul is the preferred opener anyway, but he is one of the best ODI openers in the world. Not sure how his injury helps us.
