Drumpf and his administration will view Doval as the 'serious' man and representation (NSA) that he is. Besides, India is doing pretty OK in dealing with State dept, etc - we need to do better on the anti-terrorism front, that's where we need greater focus and co-operation from US. The incoming administration puts a lot of emphasis on "radical Islamic terrorism" - India is arguably one of the top nations fighting that threat. Its a no-brainer that Doval, the guy with quality "street cred" on the subject, will be received well.
