Like I said we have regressed as a limited over side and need to infuse young blood in this team,look what a beating from Bangladesh did to England, we are playing like pussies these days, need to sort out our limited over game.

We also play many overs in  ODIs in 2000s  ODI mode

 

Need to infuse more high SR batsmen like Kedar Jadhav, who can start scoring from ball one without getting set.

 

Need to try Pant, Kishan, Hooda etc.

1) Rohit / Dhawan ( only if Rohit is failing )

2) Pant

3) Kohli

4) Rahul / Nair   ( rotate them )

5) Yuvraj  / Dhoni  ( rotate them to try out youngsters at No.4 and No.6  )

6) Jadhav / Kishan (  if Jadhav is unfit )

7) Pandya / Shankar ( only if Pandya is unfit )

8) Axar / Jadeja

9) Kuldeep   ( rest Ashwin who is MVP for tests in Asia  )

10) Nathu / Sran ( try new pacers at this slot )

11) Bumrah / Bhuvi  ( rotate them )

 

• Rest Shami and Ashwin as they are needed in tests and Shami is having issues with his knees.
• One opener is a high SR one and can score from ball one

Agree that we play ODIs in 1990s and T20s in 50 overs mode, but I am not sure that Jadhav is the answer in T20s. He is certainly an upgrade from some of the current lot, but I think he's probably best suited for 50 over cricket. His IPL stats are alright, nothing that would suggest  he'll make a great international T20 player. He does deserve  a chance, though in T20s. That he's earned.

His recent international experience in ODIs  will probably help him play much better in T20s.  He has shown all qualities to be a good T20 player in the last series.

Is Vijay Shankar a limited overs prospect?  I've heard that his batting is more suited to the longer format. Not sure.

Saw him bat in a Ranji match and he looked like a capable stroke-player. His strokes were punchy and in gaps.

 

He is a good fielder.

 

Regarding his bowling....he is primarily a swing bowler but was hitting the deck hard when he was not getting any swing.  He is on the taller side too.

 

Looked like a promising package overall even for LOIs.
