Indian American to build 8 cricket stadiums in the US

An Indian-American cricket enthusiast has announced plans to build as many as eight cricket stadiums across the US at an estimated cost of USD 2.4 billion to professionalise the game in the country.

The eight proposed stadiums, each having a capacity of 26,000 people in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Illinois and California, would create as many as 17,800 new jobs in the US, said Jignesh (Jay) Pandya, chairman of Global Sports Ventures.

Gujarat-born Pandya is a real estate developer in the US and had been travelling across the globe with his two sons to watch popular international cricket matches.

Looks too good to be true but lets see.

 

This same guy also bought a CPL team recently. Also, he promised US players a good some if they win the ICC division 4 and US eventually won that and he did pay the US team some good money.

 

However, he has been making too many promises lately. He has also said that he wants to invest and put US players on contract basis so they can only think about playing cricket and not work etc. That is correct and the right move for US cricket but I am not sure if only investment from one person can make this happen for long term basis.

 

Recently, some American players did recieve contracts because of him and his company but there were only 6-7 players who recieved it, so it begs the question again weather this is just a one-of thing? Or is he really going to be investing on regular basis, so there are about at least 15 US players who have a contract and not just 5-7 players.

The word stadium is a vague. A stadium can be 5k it can be 100k

 

I guess one advantages is that everybody in USA drives. So stadium in middle of no where....

Atleast the guy is trying something whereas the ICC and Big 3 are mum as usual.

Please someone tell that idiot to stop investing money in america for cricket Americans will never ever will be interested in cricket hell they are not even that much interested in football too... Instead he should try investing teams like Afghanistan and ireland

Yes, of course. The only problem getting a proper stadium like Florda one where India vs West Indies took place, to get the permission from the counties to build a cricket field. There are many who have shown the funds to build a stadium, but only problem has been to get the county and government's approval that the stadium is worth it and that it will be used and building it is justified.

It can. People need to have heart. If nepotism goes away from here, people can have a great team here. USA regularly makes it to 2020 world cup qualifiers. If nepotism goes, it will get better.

 

Biggest problem for US cricket is that bunch of retards like Gladstone Dainty, the president of USACA, who has also been compared to Mugabe because of his pathetic leadership and nepotism
