Azhar Ali quits as Pak ODI captain - Sarfraz Ahmed to be appointed

Honestly, I don't think so, Most of people wanted Sarfraz as national captain, And since he is the majority choice it is likely that he would be given a long rope. 

Sarfraz was also U19 winning captain for Pakistan, Has good brain cells which are rare in Pakistani Cricketers hence a Perfect candidate for captaincy. 

Most of the experts were surprised when captaincy was handed over to Azhar after WC2015 and not Sarfraz, Another person for captaincy could be Imad Wasim who also was U19 winning captain however he is likely to be vice captain. 

 

All in all, Sarfraz is a very good appointment even though a late one, Ofcourse the team would not turn to world beaters under but expect them to be more competitive then they were under Azhar, Also it's likely that Azhar may not open again for Limited Overs in near future, opening up spot for likes of Fakhar Zaman, Khushdil Shah or even Shehzad who has been in super domestic form off late and for once is making his bat talk.

Sarfraz might be better compared to other choices, but he still has a lot to improve as an international class 'keeper batsman.  I mean, the reality is that the likes of Mushfiqur are better than him as players.

 

Let's leave aside Imad Wasim from any captaincy discussions - wasn't he unofficially suspended this BPL for having a gori 'ho in his room who was a known associate of a bookie?

Sarfraz is a better player than Mushfiqur and certainly has a better cricketing sense, However from 2014 onwards Sarfraz has got considerably unfit (If you see his photo in Pakistan's 2012 Asia Cup Winning Team you will realize), So yes he will have to work over fitness and keeping.

 

But the fact is Sarfraz outscored Joe Root in 2016 ODI Series (Check his 2016 ODI Stats and they are at SR of 90+ Avg. 60+) hence a very competent middle order batsman to rely on and carry innings who may never blow away oppositions on own but is mighty effective in his role. 

 

Last time he lead Quetta team to the final of PSL and this year they have started their campaign very well with Sarfraz having prominent role with the bat and as captain, This guy maybe traditional but is still different to others. His likeable grit and game awareness in his own are good qualities, Pretty sure team will be more competitive under him.

I'm not hating on Sarfraz, he's a gutsy player and a scrappy fighter.  Likeable cricketer in that sense.  But I see him being massively over-rated by Pak fans.  And he's at best ordinary behind the stumps.  About Parthiv Patel level, who btw, is also equal or better bat.

Nasir Jamshed.  With one delivery that was too fast to be captured by cameras, he clean bowled 2 Pakistani openers.

He is playing for PZ. Hopefully he is selected for WI ODIs, Don't think t20 is ideal format for his comeback as he is sort of batsman who will play himself in before going at pace

Not playing I guess, haven't seen his name. Lahore have picked Irfan and Ghulam Muddassir though

I think irfan is a trundler I haven't seen him bowl though but I have seen few clips gulam mudassar on youtube he seem ready for internationals

Buddy you're spot on regarding Pakistani fans being impatient , unfortunately their are no broadcaster for PSL in India yes and Harris is more of odi and test player since he is an accumulator and don't have ability to go big but he is only some of their batters who are good under pressure cooker situations
